Trump Expects to End US Aid to Syrian Rebels

Trump Expects to End US Aid to Syrian Rebels | Says US has no idea who ‘moderate’ rebels actually are

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, President-elect Donald Trump said that he is likely to end the US support of “moderate” Syrian rebel groups, saying that “we have no idea who these people are” and that the US needs to focus on defeating ISIS.

The interview only briefly touched on foreign policy, but Trump echoed similar concerns about backing Syrian rebels in the past, saying that the defeat of Assad could lead to something even worse in the country, and today warning that backing the rebellion risks starting a fight with Syria and Russia.

This has been an ongoing problem for the US, with the Pentagon seeking to fight ISIS and the CIA and State Department seeking to shift the focus away from ISIS and toward regime change. The CIA is heavily involved in arming and funding the rebels.

The CIA plan to aid rebels, along with Pentagon efforts to create whole new rebel forces, have largely been disastrous failures at any rate, with much of the smuggled arms ending up in the hands of al-Qaeda and ISIS forces. Despite this, the programs have largely continued, and Trump’s interest in not doing so is seen as a major shift in US policy.

    Thank God for Donald Trump.

Do thank GOD for a common sense move that was obvious from the start geared to destroy Syria for the zionist.

Carter loves his country much more than you.

      • shishani

i have nothing against president carter as matter of fact i have lots of respect for the man, my only problem with carter as a president he was too soft with Russia which i hate the most for what they did to my country Chechnya, i loved Regan for he stood up to Russia, i love my ancestors country and love the US no lesser than any body, best country and people in the world and i have been around to realize that.

        • Templar

You don’t love USA. You want to explore USA blood and treasure to fight for your true love, a foreign country.

          • shishani

my love and only love is for US and when it comes to my grand fathers country i have never been there to love or hate and about fighting wars, I’m against wars and against killing, wars are started by the so called 1% to make money caring for no one, their own or who they send there to kill.

Chechnya got what it deserved. Crazy Jihadist terrorists were defeated. Just like they are about to be defeated in Syria if Trump does pull the plug!

          • Mikhailovich

Chechnya had 3 years of de facto independence and sharia law. They didn’t like it. So when second Chechen war happened, majority of Chechens sided with Kremlin.

Carter was a great president , But no president can last with a 20 % interest rate

      • shishani

president Carter was a great human being, a peace lover, very trustful and that don’t work now days with all the evil doers around, Cater put Russia twenty years ahead of US, thanks to president Regan who put the US ahead of Russia again , I’m not in love with neither US or Russian government, but when it comes to trusting, i choose the US government

I hate you for that trump. I’m Pole.

Do you really believe that Putin wants to rule Poland again given what a pain in the arse Poles can be? Given that Russian defence expenditure is a fifth of that of the EU countries alone and Putin himself has said that attacking any part of NATO would be madness, it’s very unlikely that he’ll even try and events in Iraq have shown people how to blow any occupation apart. Also, there is the small matter of Belarus and Ukraine being in the way. Or were you hoping that the United States might support Poland in invading Belarus and Ukraine to recover “lost” territory

      • Mikhailovich

The purpose of those surrealistic scenarios promoted by the establishment is to keep people disorientated, disorganized and easy to control. For some reason it works particular well in countries like Poland and Ukraine. May be because of their complex of inferiority.

Polish American have the highest education level in this country , maybe that’s why we call them dumb Polocks ,The more highly educated did not support Trump . Maybe just a little common sense should be tried for a while .

      • John Wells

Guaranteed that most of the people who supported Trump were much more educated than all the illegals, and minorities who voted for the Crooked Woman.

        • AGPhillbin

Prove now that any “illegals” voted at all. If someone tells you that x number of “illegals” voted, the intelligent thing to do is ask that person how they would know. Did you ask, and what was the answer, assuming you were smart or awake enough to ask?

        • Mikhailovich

Most of the white male middle class voted for Trump. They represent the real America. They made it great.

      • Guest

I would like to see a breakdown of that. If you have an “Arts” degree (BA or MA) you are not really educated at all. I have know people with MA’s who claimed they did not understand 7th grade math.

F… Da Poles — they got paid to snipe in the Maidan for the US State dept. Ya’ll better hope the Russians don’t get even !

I think we have more than a good idea that the ‘moderate’ Syrian Rebels and ISIS are one in the same, and I suspect Trump has figured this charade out also and is not going to go along with it.

But on the other hand many of his possible cabinet/agency head picks: Bolton, Gingrich, Guliani, Palin, Rodrigez ….are very very very worrisome. These are the worst of the worst. The bottom of the warmonger barrel.

I guess we will soon find out whether the civilian government really runs the country or whether the secret government (the same animals that brought you The Bay of Pigs, Gulf of Tonkin, Iran Contra and the 9/11/Anthrax False Flags) actually calls the shots. I tend to think its the latter.

Obama did a complete 180 on so many of his positions from when he was a candidate from the Surge in Afghanistan to Spying of the American People to whistleblowers being a “necessary part of a healthy democracy”.

I think your fears will be wrong , I don’t think Trump is a NWO president , I will keep my fingers crossed , Of course the NWO will not give up and you are right They surrounded Reagan and he ended up supporting more of their agenda than he realized . Today I have high hopes for Trump , but we will soon see .

Here’s a good place to start draining the swamp.

  • Dennis Boylon

Sure we know who they are! ISIS and Al Qaeda! Hope Trump doesn’t take any open limo rides

Trump may not be the smartest man , If he doesn’t want to take out Assad and make things worse for the Syrian people .We took out Gaddaffi in Libya and things got worse , We took out Saddam in Iraq and it got much worse , We took out Murabank from Egypt and things got Worse . We took out Milosevic from Yugoslavia things got worse , destroyed the whole country . Madeline Albright said ” what’s the point in having all these great weapons if we don’t use them .” Trump maybe showing a little better Judgement than our last 3 executive administrations . Looks to me Trump is going to try a simple common sense approach .

Syria is a war of Republican neocons and Democratic hawks, who welcomed the neocons to Hillary as they fled Trump.

The neocons now want back into the Trump tent. They are crawling back, trying to bring their wars with them.

The Russians have expressed fear that Trump will take them back, to solidify Republican support for the things that matter more to him at home.

Let’s hope not. I hope he stays this course as he just said it.

That is what Bernie would have done too. The reason the two are the same? Because they are the anti-establishment, and it is establishment war that Hillary loves so much.

The UK announced just a few days ago that “they” would be supporting the so called “moderate rebels” now.. they’re taking up where the US left off with ISIS!
Training, funding, etc etc. This UK announcement occurred when Trump went to the white house to meet with Obama.. Coincidence? NOPE!

    • Andrew_Nichols

But the Brits have ahuge deficit and are mired in austerity. They cant support military stuff can they?

  • Mikhailovich

I don’t think it is correct to separate the terrorism from the war mongering in general. You can drop the bomb from the sky or put it with your own hands in public place – result is the same. The evil always reproduce the evil. When Mohamed came home from a war, he told his people: we came from a small jihad and now we are going to a big jihad against the evil inside ourselves.

  • Stephen Berk

The State Department is full of neocons. That is the first swamp that must be drained.

The US funded Al Nusra at the beginning of this conflict and they knew exactly who they were funding and who Al Nusra were! No lesser person than John McCain had a photo Op with them in Syria and if you Google John McCain in Syria you can see the Photos all for your self!

I cannot believe NO ONE has pointed out the NWO is just plain mindf@*cking us!! Al-Sham?!? LOL. That is the name of a terrorist group associated with ISIS. Al-SHAM!! It is a SHAM alright. Trump, get us the hell out of the Middle East.

  • JasonSteiner

This is wonderful news! One of the main reasons I voted for Trump.

Who will sponsor the Al Quaeda Boy Scouts now aka the White Caps? I could well imagine that the USA wont be looking favourably on UK intel supporting the 911 boys now it is about to wake up and realise who they are. It really has made so many people look stupid.
