The recent Syrian military offensive in Aleppo Province has the US keen to throw even more aid at rebel factions, including some Islamist-leaning groups. Hassan Haj Ali, the commander of the Falcons of Mount Zawiya Brigade, confirmed that his forces have been the recipients of US arms recently.
This was done with an eye toward them fighting the Syrian military, and maybe ISIS, but instead they’re locked in a growing battle with the Kurdish YPG, itself the recipient of massive amounts of US weaponry, meaning once again two US-armed factions are in open war in Syria.
Ali says that the US had promised “they’d put pressure on the Kurds to stop the clashes,” but that so far there was no sign of the YPG slowing its offensive. The YPG have been trying to make their way across a strip of land in northern Aleppo in an offensive aimed at ISIS territory nearby.
US efforts to arm rebel factions initially focused on the Free Syrian Army, but as the group became increasingly irrelevant on the ground, the US began courting other rebel factions they thought were more capable of fighting ISIS, but as they added to the number of factions they were arming in this increasingly complex war, it was inevitable they’d be on both sides of some fights.
This is wonderful news for the US Establishment, because the military
industrial complex earns more and more profits. Business is booming – it´s
better than any gold rush in history. The owners and CEOs are jumping up and
down, screaming; “guns, guns, for everyone” – arm all rebels, Kurds, ISIS, al
Qaeda, even Syria, who cares, because it’s more and more profit. Business is
all about profit, and this is a dooming business, only to be admired. If it
means arming our sworn enemies, then so be it, it´s good for business. So
Americans get killed, the Establishment doesn´t care. So Europe gets a huge
change in culture, such things don´t have priority over profits. Profit has
total priority in our system, isn´t that obvious to us all by now?
Sweet. I particularly liked “dooming” business.
This is not new. The rebels the US seeks to use have always been fractured into tiny elements, and they’ve always fought with each other as much as with anyone else.
The US has tried divide and conquer, but it deals with those already divided and has not conquered anything. It is a morass. No part of US policy has ever worked as the US claimed. All it has done is destroy Syria.
In fact, that is so uniform one can almost conclude they really just wanted to destroy Syria. Certainly that is what Israel wanted, and it has a huge influence on US policy next door to Israel.
“US began courting other rebel factions they thought were more capable of fighting ISIS”
From Obama– Honestly, cross my heart, our goal for ISIS become WASWAS
The neocon controlled US is the puppet that created the whole mess. The Americans will go down in history and the GENTILES will be blamed for the horrors but it was Israel pulling the strings. Just as in Egypt, Babylon, and the “roman” persecutions of early Christians.
