In an interview today with the Times of Israel, US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro denied any disagreements between the US and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the prospect of war with Iran, insisting the two are “totally in sync.”
Shapiro, who recently got into a shouting match with Netanyahu in front of a Congressional delegation, insisted that the US has made all the “necessary preparations” for attacking Iran, and believes they have coordinated well with Israel.
Netanyahu has been publicly lashing the US for not having attacked Iran already, and has been loudly demanding “red lines” that would guarantee a US attack on Iran at a certain stage of development of that nation’s civilian nuclear program.
Shapiro insisted there were “no tangible differences” between the US position and Netanyahu’s, but with the Israeli PM seemingly having been all set to start a war in the next month, and much made of the US effort to talk him down, the split is simply too obvious for these denials to be credible.
I will bet anything that a deal was made. Yahoo doesn't do anything to upset the election apple cart for Obama, not just in terms of actual war but of rhetoric and Obama will help Yahoo in the attack AFTER the elections.

Threatening to attack , or actually attacking a sovereign sate (in this case, Iran) is, indeed, a violation of the UN Charter. It's also a violation of the Nuremberg Principle. Therefore, according to International Law, such an attack would be classified as aggressive war, the #1 war crime.

Exactly my thoughts. The same rules don't seem to apply to the United States and Israel a they do to the rest of the world.
The fact is, the US military ALREADY has contingency plans for war anywhere in the world, at any time, under any conditions, with men and hardware pre-positioned and/or on standby for quick deployment. Saying the military has plans to attack Iran is no more news than it is to say it has plans to do morning calisthenics.
I agree with the above comment. While Obama may not like Netanyahu personally, and while Obama may not want Israel to start the Iran war on his watch, HE still wants to start the Iran war on his watch. At the very least, he has been ordered to do so by his handlers and he will do so, however much he may drag his feet like some plantation foreman in the South pre-Emancipation.
People need to realize that all this back and forth with Israel is just window-dressing to the reality that there can be no resolution of this bogus Iran "crisis" without a war. That is what matters.
Obama KNOWS there IS NO Iranian nuclear weapons program. He KNOWS this! So does Israel. So, yes, they are completely on the same page that the goal is a war for the benefit of Israel, the US military-industrial complex, the oil companies, the banks, the neocons, and cheap politicians like Obama.
The only issue is how to start it without Obama getting blamed for it. He is, as Norman Finkelstein described him, a "stunning narcissist" and he doesn't want to be blamed for starting the war like Bush was blamed for Iraq and Afghanistan. So Obama is trying to figure out how to get IRAN to start the war, rather than the US and Israel. And he knows how – impose a naval blockade. He will do this next year. Then Iran will have to retaliate by closing the Strait of Hormuz and that will start the war.

However John-Muhammad to say that they have such plans means that if Israel were to Attack the Iranians may just retaliate against Bahrain big time because they have little to lose, and may as well take out something BIG in the US fleet, No Matter what it was from Carrier to destroyer it would still be a major loss of pretige for the US, especially if there were multiple targets destroyed! The whole Iran timeline has been repeatedly sidelined by other events in the middle east and south Asia. Something , like the situation in Iraq 'going south' or an insurrection in Saudi Arabia could stand the whole proposition on its head.
Worse still is the possibility of an unforeseen 'development' upsetting the applecart before the blitzkrieg on Iran is effective. Imagine the whole middle east going up, as the Iranians block the straits of Hormuz.
Imagine another economic 'October crisis', or the end of the Mayan calendar turning out to be true.

first of all, threats of attack to Iran is not a new scenario .after the revolution in Iran it has been repeated several times by several countries.and it had one reason : to increase pressure on Iranian people to change the government.both US and Israel know that the war with Iran would not be sth like Iraq or Afghanistan.the complete defeat of Iran's Army , Revolution Guardians and people militia force of basij with over 10 million voluntary soldiers would take a very long time.on the other hand with Iranian peoples mood and moral after war the next regime established on Iran would not take a long time to fall and story goes on.
