Speculation is constantly swirling about a possible US attack on Iran, but the breaking of a CIA spy ring in Iran earlier this week underscores the reality that there is a covert war of sorts already going on in the nation. Whether it expands into a full-on shooting war is anyone’s guess, but the low-level behind-the-scenes war is likely to continue anyhow.

Astute readers of the international news have long observed that the CIA has been very active inside Iran. Nevertheless, it is true that the average American boobus wouldn't have had any clue, as he simply does not receive any news but the propaganda issued him by the US media establishment. The only reason that this has become relatively well-known in US circles is that the CIA apparently has suffered an immense defeat in its provocations against Iran, a defeat that by its very immensity attracts the curiosity of the US media.

Of course we need a very public provocation to initiate military action against Iran, and we already know our soldiers and intelligence operatives are cheap throwaways to provide this sort of thing. I seem to remember the same sort of thing being used a while back to justify the invasion of another country… oh, I remember- Poland, 1939.
And, as always, when the US public is bamboozled and misinformed into supporting intervention in the Middle East….. Tel Aviv will be pleased.
