The White House is disputing claims from over the weekend that President Obama had narrowed down his choices for the escalation in Afghanistan to three choices and that a 34,000 man escalation was the front-runner at the moment.
Instead, Obama has actually narrowed it down to four choices, all of which are officially secret, and that all four choices will be discussed during a secret meeting tomorrow, according to Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
Gibbs insisted the persistant claims that Obama had made or was close to making a decision came from people who don’t have “the slightest idea what they’re talking about.” The president has been debating escalation for months.
Though Gibbs would give no indication of the size of the various options, all appear to be significant escalations of the number of American troops in Afghanistan. General Stanley McChrystal has sought as many as 80,000 additional troops for the war, though military officials were quick to point out there are nowhere near that many available.

2) More Troops
3) A Lot More Troops
4) Not Enough Troops

2) Slightly Less Troops
3) Less Troops
4) A Lot Less Troops
This is madness. The USA should get out of Afghanistan.
We are trapped into fighting another war for Israel and Empire. What a waste! You can be sure the latest effort in Afghanistan will end in disaster and ruin for everybody involved. We are already in the abyss.
If we are truly the stooges for Israel that we are trying to be shouldn’t we get out of Iraq and Afganistan and save all our blood and resources for an eventual all out war with Iran? What are all of these so-called Israel-first Zionists in our government doing? It doesn’t look like they have Netanyahu’s Empire interests at heart. They just want to look good to their warmonger constinuency so that Abe Foxman won’t get after them.
Obama is clueless. The man doesn't have the experience or the wisdom to arrive at the only viable option: bring the troops home and mind our own damn business.
Can our government do anything without the blessings of the lobby? What the lobby wants is a 'clash of civilization'. Too bad, the countries attacked so far were to weak to start the clash so they will keep on adding to the list. At this point, Pakistan and Iran look quite promissing.
A U.S. marine veteran is gathering signatures to attach to a petition he has written urging Obama not to escalate troop levels. He will personally deliver it to the White House.
