Officials suspect ISIS was behind yet another attack in the east Syrian desert on Sunday, ambushing and killing at least 15, including eight Syrian soldiers on the main highway through the desert area.
ISIS hasn’t claimed credit yet for this attack, but as a group overwhelmingly based out of the desert, they would be the most likely culprit. This is particularly true given how many attacks they’ve launched recently.
In recent years, ISIS went from controlling most of Syria to only having troops hiding in the deserts. Still fielding a substantial number of fighters, the group has recently tried to get back out of the deserts and reassert itself in meaningful towns.
So far, ISIS has been able to inflict casualties in ambushes, but has failed to retake any territory over the long term, usually just provoking airstrikes or counterattacks that send them back where they started.
ISISRAEL!
Syria is just like a woman tied to a log where anyone(USA, Israel and Co.) who wants to rape her can, but if she cries out for help she is a “terrorist”! If Syria RIGHFULLY responded to these aggressions, they would be destroyed, while Israel can attack anytime, anywhere and it’s because they “have a right to self defense”. What a crock of crap!
More infamous “desert people” ambushes in Syria!
I do not think militant goal is to seize villages and towns. They cannot.
The goal is to keep Syria in news as unstable, ISIS ridden country needing US presence there. This is the kind of cartoon-level messaging quite sufficient to justify anything to US public, and for media to retail without question.
So, where are these “desert people”? Point the location on the map. They are in US supported camps, of course. Under US air support coverage of course. Food, water, shelter, garages, vehicle repairs, gas stations, weapons depots, training camps — all not too secret placed. And NONE are in either Syrian or Turkish controlled territory. You do the math.
Syria, Russia, Turkey, Iraq — all know exactly where these militants are. The militants may have been collected from ISIS remnants, but are not ISIS any more in any shape or form.
Since US controls from air these “deserts”, why not find them, destroy them, expose their financing and their suppliers? No mystery there.
Not that any “journalist” in US would be so ill bred as to ask such questions!
Let us just continue talking about mysterious “desert people”, who produce all they need from the desert sand! A bigger feat then producing wine from water.
One will have to be seriously mentally challenged to accept such cartoons, and retail them without questioning.
“Desert people?” Blame Charlie Manson.
The ambush late Sunday resulted in the deaths of eight soldiers, four allied fighters, and three civilians, British colonizers reported (take that, Israel).
