In an interview with Russian channel NTV, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for a worldwide nuclear disarmament, declaring that the era of nuclear weapons is over.
“Today, no one can use a nuclear weapon and we believe that the US is taking a wrong move by stockpiling nuclear weapons,” Ahmadinejad noted, likely referring to President Obama’s call for an additional $5 billion in funding for America’s nuclear weapons program.
Ahmadinejad pointed out that despite America’s enormous nuclear arsenal, they have been unable to achieve victory in either Iraq or Afghanistan.
The Iranian president also labeled nuclear weapons as “inhumane” and said that the nations calling for disarmament should dismantle their own arsenals to prove their sincerity in the move.
Iran’s own civilian nuclear program has been subject to intense criticism, with Western officials claiming it is part of a covert plan to acquire nuclear weapons. Iran has insisted it has no designs on such weapons, and the IAEA has repeatedly certified that it is not diverting any of its civilian nuclear material to any non-civilian purpose.

I remember decades ago reading about Iranians Criticizing the United Nations. The issue was UN had gone along with US position accusing Iran of using chemical weapons in the Iran-Iraq war. However two years after intensive investigations UN altered its stand and confirmed Iran didn’t use such weapons in that war. (as NBC had reported “tens of thousands” of Iranians suffered a horrific death by chemical weapons)
I’ve also read during that 8 year war Iran refused the offers of the foreign chemical arms-dealers for selling Iran the capability of manufacturing chemical weapons . (The Iranians claiming their refusal was on the base of their moral convictions). I also remember a Shi’a Fatwa renouncing buildup or use of any WMD (by Khamenei?).
It is highly probable NIE and IAEA are right and Iran is not after the A-Bomb. I believe Israel and West “know” that fact. They use those unsubstantiated allegation to bomb or cripple Iran just to stop its advancements in the scientific and technological fields.

This is a pretty good pt . but may not be realistic .
It's the classic case of "You put your gun down first." We don't know for sure that Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons, just saying they don't isn't really sufficient. If we had been talking about Russian during the cold war this wouldn't have even been a discussion. I for one, don't really want to be blown into a cloud of radioactive particles by a jihidist, simply because I wanted to believe a country that practicallly useds "DEATH TO AMERICA!" as their slogan.

Time to dream. What if Israel decided to become a neighbor with all the nations in the mid-east? What if they began by declaring a day of reconciliation with the Palestinians? What if they joined Iran in a call for total nuclear abandonment including that of the United States since it IS in the mid-east and sees "little" nukes as "acceptable"? What if the Palestinians were granted citizenship in their own land to gether with the Jews and all shared the creation of a government built on democratic values and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that all signed as members of the United Nations? What if Israel returned the Golan Heights to Syria? What if Israel stopped using southern Lebanon as its own training sky? What if Israel decided it has a responsibility to clear up the cluster bombs it has dispersed over that same land? What if the UN called for a time of peace and reconciliation that all nations would celebrate as the world gathered its members in unison and compassion and love that war might end for once in my lifetime that has covered three quarters of a century? Consider what Iran has proposed: a chance to end a man made threat that ushered us into this disastrous era, a threat all of us have lived with our entire lives. That is one positive step for man, one that can reverse this Golem inspired drive to unending war that chains all in fear and hate.

Nothing would please me more than if every nation would destroy its nuclear weapons and never think of using them again. I would be thrilled, sadly the fact remains that you can’t ask any country to disarm without the assurance that the other countries are going to do the same. The president of Iron may or may not be developing nuclear weapons, but he has also been quoted as saying that Americans should be killed. And remember that he mentioned a fundamental teaching in the koran, that IT IS PERMISSIBLE TO LIE TO A NON-BELIEVER TO FURTHER THE CAUSE OF ISLAM!!. How are we expected to believe a man who says that?! That is in the KORAN! That means that when Ahmadinejad says he doesn’t seek the bomb, HE COULD BE LYING!
