The US assassinated Iran’s Quds Force commander, Gen. Qassem Soleimani, earlier this month. This almost started a war, and with tensions still high, US envoy Brian Hook is now threatening to kill Soleimani’s successor.
Gen. Esmail Ghaani has taken over as head of the Quds force, and Hook warned if he “follows the same path of killing Americans then he will meet the same fate.” He added that if the general made “any attack on Americans or American interests” he’d face a decisive response.
Ghaani says he intends to follow the “luminous path” of Soleimani, who is extremely popular in Iran. The Iranian government added that they view the threats against Ghaani as a sign of “governmental terrorism.”
Hook, however, says this is nothing new in US policy, and that intentions were always to decisively react against officials if they attack American interests. Doing so always risks escalating tensions or raising the stakes in tit-for-tat violence, but it is fair to say that is nothing new in US policy.
US policy now seems to be murder of selected govt officials-policy may have a sinister “justification” by declaring, as pomp and bolton have pressed for, that republican guard is a terrorist org.

This was said to curb the successor from getting any ideas of getting out of line without the Mullahs permission or plan his own agenda.

It’ll be up to local militias in Iraq and Syria to make the next move, which they already are, firing Katyushas randomly at US bases and oil facilities. The USA has no effective defense against this and will eventually have to withdraw US troops or use some pretext (false-flag event) to escalate the conflict and attack Iran. However, Thomas, you didn’t mention the 2 powerful allies of Iraq and Iran – Russia and China. Do you think they’ll simply stand by and not come to Iraq and Iran’s aid? This will certainly bring about a 3rd World War, which will devastate the world in such all life will be wiped out.
