Speaking at the Pentagon at the 9/11 anniversary event, President Trump
focused heavily on the ongoing war against the Taliban, saying that the
US has hit them harder than they’ve ever been hit before.
These comments come just days after President Trump disavowed the
US-Taliban peace process in Afghanistan and says that instead the US
will “use power, the likes of which the United States has never used before.“
While 9/11 anniversary comments from top US officials have never shied
away from talk of more military bellicosity, Trump seems to be using
9/11 as an excuse to rail against the Taliban because he just happened
to scrap peace just a few days prior.
Indeed, Trump was apparently willing to meet the Taliban last weekend,
which media critics are calling “9/11 weekend.” If his decision on peace
had gone a different way, he might’ve used the same speech to talk up
the peace deal finally ending the first post-9/11 war.
Who did 9/11? Think again …..

Yes, good Pepe Escobar article.
“If for any reason they come back to our country, we will go wherever they are, and use power, the likes of which the United States has never used before”
So thus far, Trump has threatened to obliterate North Korea and Iran, flippantly talked about killing 10 million Afghans and now has threatened “they” with power that is more lethal than what we used on Japan. Now why wouldn’t anyone want to talk to him?
Talking to him would be like talking to some mobster thug. Oh, that’s right, he is a mobster thug and has been for decades.
He’s Mr. Cohn’s protege.
Bolton was gone and Trump is still threatening to obliterate poor benighted nations that have the courage to stand up to the Empire. Can’t blame it on Bolton this time. Who’ll be the next NSA… maybe the Antichrist?
Another empty ejaculation by the Orange One.
And Taliban has just been strengthened. Failure to come up with at least a framework for peace, with concrete steps leading to transition of power, has been a mistake. Taliban has no reason to return to the table — and every reason to continue weakening Kabul government.
What can US do? Pakistan is out of meddling business, and US has to deal with Taliban. Well, we call them Taliban, which Afghani tribes never were. Taliban was our creation (with Saudi schools and preachers, Saudi money, and Pakistani poor youth). Taliban had forced many tribes into alliance, in order to remove pro-Soviet government in Kabul. But Taliban religious extremism never suited Afghan lifestyle, so much so that after US occupation, what was left of Taliban either returned to Pakistan, or blended into tribes.
So, who is US going to hit? Try to harm one tribal military in hope of getting divisions among them going? That has bern tried before, will not work. Today, they have unified representation internationally. Hitting them would simply undermine Kabul government, as impotent in the face of occupiers. We can get helicopters ready.
Just read this after reading the article in which Trump dismisses John Bolton derisively as “Mr Tough Guy,” then he goes on with one of his usual “likes of which the world has never seen” threats, donning his “Mr Tough Guy” persona.
So I’m thinking that either Bolton himself resigned due to Trump’s erratic policymaking or he was fired simply because he didn’t lick Trump’s boots enough for Trump’s liking.
I’m predicting they’ll be forced back to the negotiating table with the Taliban in a matter of months or maybe a year. Or hell don’t negotiate and end the war. Negotiate or don’t negotiate it doesn’t matter to me. Just bring the troops home.
More random meaningless threats. The US can not defeat the Taliban – and aren’t even trying. The only thing the US wants in Afghanistan is the heroin and the profits from conducting a two-decade long war.
The same will apply to Iran – the only thing the US wants from Iran is a new Thirty Years War that will make profits for the military-industrial complex and the oil companies.
More tiny penis talk.
