In the course of his speech on the National Security Strategy, President Trump offered few specifics, but did take time out to talk up the need to move against North Korea, saying that the US “has no choice” but to deal with North Korea and its “challenge.”
Trump didn’t elaborate on what that would entail, but in past comments has repeatedly lambasted calls for diplomacy with North Korea, while threatening to “totally destroy” the country militarily.
Today’s comments were in a speech where the one recurring theme was protracted US military operations around the world, and promises to increase military spending even further than it already has been to ensure America’s overwhelming superiority.
Trump did claim that the world was united on the need to disarm North Korea, and he expressed confidence that allies would be helping when the US gets around to dealing with North Korea.

Trump faces a dilemma because his threats didn’t frighten Kim. So now the US must continue with its threat of war, or pull back because it’s going to get hurt.
The US doesn’t want to be seen losing war or losing face, so next it told China then Russia they are responsible for resolving this stand-off…but to disguise their climbdown the US continues issuing threats while walking backwards.
Another random comment from Trump which means nothing except to continue his vapid play-acting at being a President.
He’s painted himself into a corner. He has to start a disastrous war or look like either a paper tiger or a fool by backing down to negotiate.
He can’t threaten Russia, they would kick NATO in a couple of days and be celebrating in Paris in a week, with NY next on the list for a barbecue.
He can’t threaten China, there would be no christmas if China says goodbye to Walmart.
He can’t threaten Iran, they told him that Afghanistan was a walk in the park compared to what happens if US sets foot on Iranian territory.
So he is left with incompetent fiascos in Africa, Syria telling him to go home and Libya soon to be reunited and run by another Gaddafi.
So empty noise against a country with fewer people than California, a smaller economy than any US state and 50 year old technology. However it doesn’t frighten NK, doesn’t impress any one with intelligence but the Americans [USA USA USA] lap it up.

Trumps certainly seems to be working on isolating the USA. This next UN vote will mean more threats and bullying, smaller countries will be subjected to threats of economic retaliation if they vote to reaffirm the dozens of existing resolutions condemning Israel’s 50 occupation of the West Bank.
