CIA Chief Mike Pompeo today played up the growing North Korean missile capability, warning the nation is on the cusp of having the ability to deliver a nuclear weapon to US targets, saying efforts are being taken to prevent this.
Pompeo warned that North Korea’s progress is so quick now that there’s no way to predict when they’ll succeed, adding “you’re now talking about months” and that a “detailed level” of precision is irrelevant.
North Korea has been very public about wanting this capacity for a nuclear retaliation against the US as a way to deter constant US threats for attacks. Officials have even suggested North Korea is loathe to talk with the US until they have this capacity, to blunt the threat of a US attack as a negotiating tactic.
Despite North Korea being on the verge of having a capacity that should make US strikes unthinkable, Pompeo said the US should continue to keep the possibility of attacking on the table. He also jokingly told national security officials that if Norh Korea’s leader Kim Jong un disappears we shouldn’t talk about it.
This suggests that the threat of a calamitously bad war, including possible nuclear attacks on US soil, might not be sufficient to deter current US officials from starting such a war, a disturbing thought.
The problem America has created for itself with its aggression across the world and its belligerence towards North Korea means Kim is under no obligation to wait until he’s attacked. They’ve threatened annihilation of the country, nukes and a decap strike against him. The US claims the right to preventative warfare – it’s what got all their wars started – but with Kim it really would be the case.
When he can produce the Iraqi WMD’s they were mewling and yelping about, then I might consider whatever dung flecked drivel they’re trying to sell now.

Aliens invading, nuclear war, sure come on, can’t hurt us, but, it is all a prelude to the ELECTRIC going OFF. When you see the lights flickering know -the end is near. Nothing, not a nuclear war, nothing, can hurt/kill us, as much, as quickly, as the lack of drinking water which translates to -NO ELECTRICITY.
With this bunch of Politicians, Judges and Lawyers running the show for us, well, expect the worse and sooner than you think. Kim, is either in-on-it or a stooge, I suspect the Politicians and Judges have for a long time made South Korea stand down from re-uniting their nation, just so they, the filthy rich and the Political, could always have a boogie man to keep us on the edge of our seats.
What can anyone say, like so many times in the past, what can be said when once the lights go off? It will be too late then – have the military people been told to stand down, I mean our military people, “our” yeah right, I meant to write ‘their’ as in, have their military people been told to just be cool, stay in place over seas, that way you won’t have to go without water? Otherwise, the Generals and the Privates, all of them, should be busy, making ‘transformers’ to replace the ones burned out when the Banker King finally does unleash a EMP on our happy butts.
