Some Pentagon officials have been insisting for awhile that the defeat of ISIS would ultimately also mean the total extermination of ISIS, but even in Iraq, where the last meaningful swathes of ISIS territory are falling, the group doesn’t appear anything close to defeated, and Pentagon officials are starting to recognize that fact.
Rather than ISIS being a defeated state without territory, the reality is that ISIS will just default back to what they were before they got that territory, a very powerful, and very dangerous, insurgency. The Pentagon confirms they’re expecting a big change in tactics as they move from fighting over land to dealing with landless insurgents.
What’s not clear is what the Pentagon plans to do about that, as if 16 years in Afghanistan and past forays into Iraq have proven anything, it’s that the US military really doesn’t have a cohesive strategy for eliminating a determined insurgent force, or even containing them effectively.
This of course was part of the reason the Pentagon began talking up a permanent US military presence in Iraq after the ISIS war: the reality of the situation has always been that the return of the insurgency just means going back to the same Iraq War they couldn’t win the last time, and taking a timetable off the board before it’s even started is the easiest way for the Pentagon’s leadership to avoid admitting failure when that time inevitably comes.
Just what the pentagon wanted. Endless war endlessly.
So long Suni!
Disinformation will be thick in the Pentagon lands east of Lake Assad,
as the non-interventionists demand “excuses” for the permanent presence.
The excuses will be provided, of course, as always.
What rubbish! If ISIS families have to work for living, they woul behave differently. ISIS is
still funded, their religious extremism cuddled, arms, transport, sarelite telecom, food and board, monthly pay to fighters, and wellfare style assistance to families, including education — all still intact. Leadership is irrelevant. Each group is a cult with religious leader appointed by Wahhabis, and ready to sacrificevthemselves for the cult beliefs.
This is why we are NOT ALLOWED TO CALL THEM TAKFIRI CULTS — even though all Middle East calls them that. Because they have declared themselves the only real believers, with the right to declare anyone TAKFIRI, or appostates. This, naturally is AGAINST Sunni Islam — as only selected bodies are set up to initiate a discussion on apostate accusations. But never mind — we are ACCIDENTALLY accusing all Moslems of this cult beliefs, and actually pretend to protect them against islamiphobia, while PROTECTING TAKFIRI CULTS AS WELL. Disgusting neocon slime.
No differention is allowed, thus PARALYSING any participation of Moslems in the fight against cults.
Now, after indulging cults in any gruesome exhibit of their “righteousnes”, we are SHOCKED that Iraq is struggling with the situation. They cannot just release these familues that have trained their ten year olds in beheading people — and expect them to rejoin the normal world. Much must be done now to identify cult characteristics, to work with social workers, police and educators, with religious authorities, etc. to delegitimize the cult, to identify children and youth at risk, to deprogram adults.
But before any of this is possible — in the name of everything that we hold dear, let us send a STERN MESSAGE to our leaders that support of these cults in any shape and form must carry MUCH HARSHER PENALTY FOR them and everyone who willingly supports Islamic cults. And that penalties may include beheading on a public square — just to get their attention away from the sweet smell of money.
Including money they are already counting on — to continue “fighting” ISIS. And first — make all politicians subject to same antiterrorist laws other citizens are subject to. Why would for example be legal for politicians to fund, train and arm tettorist in Syria with their stated goal to topple Syrian Government — while any volunter going to Syria to join Islamic militants fighting against Assad, are charged with terrorism upon return to US? So, we manufacture cults knowingly, we know jow dangerous they are — but we would prefer that they stay in fhe Middle East, terrorizing people and their governments, making it impossible for them to economically develop, to educate their population, and enjoy peaceful life. For Ziocons, this sounds ideal.
“This is why we are NOT ALLOWED TO CALL THEM TAKFIRI CULTS”
Except, of course, that you ARE allowed to call them that, and do call them that.
I have higher expectations from you. We are not this unintelligent not to know the difference between the voices if powerless individuals and our officialdom. There is a powerful media and “progressive” leadership consensus that litterally accuses people of islamophobia — if Islam us even mentioned as part if the problem in the Middle East. We are supposed to only talk of terrorists and “moderate” rebels. The fact that both of them practice extreme cult versions of what they call Islam, is not part if a serious discusion. This gives officialdom the flexibility to embrace, arm and fund “moderate” headchoppers, while scape goating others. Do we still believe that there was any purpose for ISIS between Euphrates and Iraqi border, other then being placeholder for future Kurdish statelet– another in a long list of toll booths controlling transit, energy distribution, trade and economic development of many regions.
Trump tried to use the distinguishing description — radical Islam, and the “progressive” America had a fit. As my 15 year ild grandson pointed out, Trump separated Sunni Moslems and the Takfiri cults by separating them to the two sides if a room. But it is not enough — it is time to out them into separate rooms. By deliberately “defending” Moslems, the neocons are in fact SILENCING THEM. People are not stupid — they see the same Saudi supplied religious leaders spewing Wahhabism within American mosques. Salafi Center in Boston — infamous. So, they correctly concluded that US protects and will protect these cults. After seeing how these cults effortlessly move around the globe — and knowing that there is no magic carpet — only one conclusion is possible — US government and media are determined to COMINGLE the religion and cults — keeping majority silent. And tainted implicitely by association.
So, yes. WE (capital WE), the talking heads if government, media, intuactial neocons left ir right, will NOT allow the issue of cults to be raised. This is very dangerous territory for them — as it may blow in the face of Saudi Arabia. In fact it already did — the palace coup in the Desert Kingdom, will slowly but surely result in changes — as their pisition us untenable. Revolutionary? Reactionary? Remains to be seen.
But we are being treated by Amnesty International humanitarian “concerns”. for ISIS familues, and Iraqi government placing them into reeducation camps. And what exactly can Iraq and Syria do with hundreds of these cults — as they lise usefulness and thus funding. No wonder — Pentagon is excuted at the possibility of somebody picking up the funding and continuing the need for forever mission in Iraq. But it will not happen this time. Iraq and Syria are now very different countries, and so is the entire region. One visit from Trump and the region is about to implode. And while the young crown prince cultivsted Kushner tues, he cultivated even more the ones with Putin. In the resulting reshuffle, Egypt will be the winner.
I defer to your wall of verbiage.
