Speaking today in an interview while visiting Australia, Sen. John McCain loudly declared Russian President Vladimir Putin to the “the premier and most important threat” in the world, saying he was a bigger threat than ISIS, and vowing to push new sanctions against Russia as a result.
McCain has long been an advocate of the war against ISIS, declaring them the largest, wealthiest terrorist organization in world history, and insisting that President Obama didn’t understand how big off a threat that they were.
McCain presented the threat as primarily to elections, saying that even though there was no evidence Russia had actually changed the outcome of the US vote, they were “attacking democracy,” and had tried to change the outcome of the recent French vote.
It is common, of course, to claim Russia tried to alter the outcome of every Western election, past, present, and future, irrespective of evidence. At present hostility toward Russia is the safest way to get more funding for the Pentagon, and that means such allegations are likely to recur for the foreseeable future.
McCain himself may be a greater threat to world peace than both Putin and ISIS
Beat me to this one. I’d personally vote for John McCain as the biggest threat to get me killed. He’s actually a double or even triple threat. He seems to really, really, really want to start a nuclear war. He also backs the terrorists who are likely to kill me. Add in his support for a US police state that kills more Americans every year, and yeah, I’d vote for John McCain as the biggest threat in the world.
I can’t see where Putin is threatening to kill me. And every terrorist attack that’s been near me has been committed by crazy, fanatical, radicalized Christian terrorists committing murders and bombings which are somehow rationalized because someone else is killing unborn babies. Those are the terrorists who’ve consistently struck near me, most notably in the Atlanta Olympic bombings.
So, I’d definitely would put Sen. McCain higher on the “threat list” than either Putin or ISIS.
can’t we just give him back to the Vietnamese ? They caught him, they should keep him.
The still have part of him. He left his mind in Viet Nam.
McCain takes orders without thought or question.
Has MadMcCain ever said anything remotely reasonable since…he’s been in Congress?
He must have; accidents happen.
Yes. He has advocated for a separation between commercial and investment banking. However, he obviously doesn’t care about it: Just words from the lips of a politician.
He stood up against Reagan’s troop deployment to Lebanon in 1983, as a freshman in Congress, and said things that would have made him quite popular here, for which he was proven correct. It was downhill from there however…
This man is an imbecile. The problem is that he should be treated as a furious imbecile and not allowed to take part in any elections because are many imbeciles who vote for him.A just comparison should be done between him and Hitler and then we’ll see that they have many things in commun either hatred or the absolute believe in what their sick mind dejects,i mean he and Hitler.Sometimes an organisation belonging to health minister should broadcast in Congress and Senate the movie Dr.Strangelove but these degenerates will say like parrots that is a Putin manipulation.
The point being, people will vote for him. Since McCain has no criminal record or such barring him from running for office, its his right. He represents Americans who are just like him.
He should have a criminal record for his role in the savings and loan scandal back in the 80s but he was protected
… But he doesn’t. How many Americans are like that and support that kind of corruption because it works for them? They may be far from a majority but enough to elect the politicians they like.
Ugh. Russia is a challenge, but a non-military one. Defining it as such is a losing prospect.
Lighten up on “Yosemite Sam”. His thoughts all come to him through his Mossad handler, Joe Lieberman.
I hope these guys put on their joker hats before issuing these statements?
