According to the South Korean military, North Korea attempted to launch a missile off their east coast, an apparent test launch coming early Sunday morning, but as with several other previous test launches in recent weeks, it ended in apparent failure.
Details are still scant on what sort of missile this latest test launch was. Recently, North Korea has been trying to launch both some long-range ballistic missiles, as well as improved versions of some of their medium range arsenal, though repeatedly they’ve lost control and watched them slam into the ocean.
That appears to have been what happened once again, with the latest, unidentified missile also failing to go particularly far. US officials insist it was not an ICBM, but similarly did not identify exactly what it was, which may point to a shorter range missile.
The timing of the test is seen as likely an attempt to play u their retaliatory capability amid growing concern of an imminent US attack. That the test failed is likely to be a considerable embarrassment for the country after yesterday’s high-profile military parade, though of course their retaliatory capability remains substantial, and heavy based around artillery capable of reaching South Korea.
Best response: “we can now make all of your missiles fail”.
yes. Russia may have done it too. We won’t know because these scalar abilities are held tightly, loaded with plausible deniability. DPRK will not admit it either.
The US media made it clear that the idea of the US being totally invincible was being pushed to the people. For the purpose of domestic politics?
N.Korea will succeed eventually and China is not going to allow a US strike. That will become a full scale war.
I’m quite confident in saying that China and Russia are now ready to hold the line against US aggression.
This is hilarious; all these missile fails can’t be for real. Kim Jong-Un is pranking Trump with duds. Great Leader is an apt title in this case.
After a while you have to wonder why an aircraft carrier strike group is needed for a nation whose missiles don’t work. Although, obviously the real arsenal must work.
Its perfect; successful missile tests are obviously far less of a joke. Firing off duds is the safest, most annoying act defiance and disrespect, which the Americans cannot stand for. Yet, the U.S. would have to shoot first like bad guys and break the armistice themselves, to do anything about it.
Seems Trump is not the only world leader dabbling in 4D chess.
You’re entitled to your stupidity but remember that it’s damaging to the antiwar cause. The US is obviously not worried about N.Korea ever sending a missile to the US, the worry is that N.Korea may one day have the missiles and the bombs with which to protect itself
And that spells the end of US aggression on N.Korea. I stumbling block to complete global power over all other countries and the resultant empire.
The few Americans who talk about Russia and China standing up now are the few that are beginning to understand. That’s what Trump needs to understand but likely won’t.
If you can’t see the humour in facing certain death by other people’s idiocy, then that’s your loss.
North Korea wants a peace treaty and its obvious they need their nukes as a safeguard so they’re keeping them, all thanks to some very successful geopolitical gamesmanship that amounts to the U.S. holding the world hostage to its demands; die now or die later.
What is the antiwar movement hoping for? Appeasement of the U.S.? Not going to happen. Future U.S. war plans such as Prompt Global Strike with its first strike capabilities and interceptor shields, require North Korean real estate, and that’s that.
Projectile dysfunction?
