Since the Democratic National Convention, the Clinton campaign has been accusing the Russian government of being behind a series of hacks embarrassing to Hillary Clinton, and has repeatedly claimed that Republican nominee Donald Trump is in league with the Russians.
House Dems appears to be looking to back up those allegations today, demanding that the FBI both launch a formal investigation into Trump’s involvement in the hacks, and for the FBI to “explain to the American people what steps it is taking to disrupt this ongoing criminal activity.”
The demands are coming from top committee members from four different House committees, and they are claiming that Trump adviser Roger Stone’s admission that he met with a “mutual friend” of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange amounted to him “bragging” about being involved in the hacks.
The Obama Administration already “confirmed” a link between the hacks and Russia, though they’ve offered no real evidence of that claim. Trump’s links to all this are even more speculative, though Clinton’s campaign has treated them as an undisputed fact for months.
“Ongoing Criminal Activity.” Perfect description of the Clintons and the US government to a tee.

Give me some evidence of these hacks to persuade me that this totally implausible BS on Russia hooked to wikileaks hooked to Trump is anything but brainwashing.
“has all the earmarks of,” and “sure looks like,” and “based on our experience . . . ”
Why doesn’t this sort of thing convince me it’s them Russians them Russians and we ought to attack them, when it’s all joined up with “besides we’ve got a political case we’re pushing here . . .” and “would like to take the attention off Hillary and Podesta’s emails . . .” as with her campaign lies and the Clinton Foundation pay for play problems.
It does look more and more that our foreign policy is up for sale. For government employees — she and her husband did pretty well.
Why does it not surprise any more. And it is getting ridiculous on global level. In tiny Montenegro. elections are held today, with the possibility of removing US preferred ruler of the country since nineties. And what is the chief complaint by the ruler in trouble! Russia is meddling in Montenegro elections! One cannot invent this. If anything, US has spent hundreds of millions, if not billions already, pushing the country into NATO. Nobody was allowed to vote on it, just politicians made the deal. And for years, NATO office in Montenegro worked on persuading the skeptical population that NATO was good — for their economy! All that, and for what? For Montenegro’s half a million population, and an army of 2,000. That is less then the number of students in most high schools in US.
But today, US and its Western allies got a big, loud slap in the face. It came from India — that signed a big pact with Russia, both in energy and military fields. In energy, nuclear electric plants and Russian purchase of an Indian energy company, along with the port the company owns. In military, joint production of helicopters and Russian stealth frigates. And a number of growing, upstream investments of Indian companies in Russia.
But this is not what makes it important. India praised Russia in its uncompromising stand on international terrorism, and gave Russia support in its efforts in the Middle East. Modi said that India and Russia’s positions are either very close or absolutely identical in understanding global issues.
India’s humanitarian contingent is already on the ground in Syria — and US should think about hitting them as well in any military action in Syria; other countries’ humanitarian relief contingents currently present in Syria are China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Armenia. Coincidentally, all from Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The longer US tries to prolong Syrian conflict, the more messages will be receiving from both friends and adversaries. India is a good friend of US — but is not the kind of friend like our European allies. It is not going to go along with appeasing terrorists — as nothing good comes of it in the end. They just spread, and grow. So, if Washington thought it will isolate Russia with the talk of war crimes prosecution — it got a very loud message today.
Hacking and blaming are distractions in the political campaign. But other events, like the one today in India — are serious, long term consequences.
