At least four clinics have been hit in airstrikes in rebel-held districts of Syria’s Aleppo in a little over two days, with three more such buildings hit today, A number of people were wounded, but in these latest strikes, only two civilians were reported slain.
The much larger strike, the Wednesday night hit on the al-Quds hospital, continues to see its death toll rise, with the latest figures from Doctors Without Borders (MSF) saying at least 50 civilians were killed in the attack, which effectively leveled the hospital.
The clinics hit Friday were much smaller, with one primarily used as a dental surgery. Another of the sites, al-Marjah Primary Health Care, was operated by a Canadian NGO, which reported they’d evacuated the site after Wednesday, and that one one was present.
Over 200 people have been killed in Aleppo in the past eight days. This has included a number of people killed in airstrikes across the rebel-held districts, and people killed in government- districts by rebels, primarily al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front.
The casualties on both sides are almost exclusively civilians, and there is no indication that any territory has changed hands in several days, showing that the attacks, despite the huge body count, aren’t accomplishing anything.
Only those who wish to turn Syria into a failed state would be conducting airstrikes targeting basic infrastructure such as hospitals. This is deliberate and calculated. Russia should shoot them down and then declare that anyone flying warplanes over Syria that isn’t expressly invited to do so by the Syrian government will be shot down with extreme prejudice.
That would put a stop to this nonsense…at least for a minute or two…
Based on probability, it was either Turkey, Israel of a NATO nation.
How could you write an article like this without mentioning who did it?
But, how could you not when it was our bombs, our jets and an American hero who flew the jets?
When we invaded Iraq, more correctly when our Empire expanded into Iraq, was it the intent of our Empire builders that the expansion be temporary by their establishing a stable democracy?
Quite the reverse, for the more unstable and anti-democratic the government, all the more would Iraq act in our best interest by supporting our wars of aggression and expansion, all the more would they make the trading of oil for war materials a permanent and forever thing.
So, as government is an intelligence dictatorship with the greatest stability established when the highest achievers are in full command and control, our Empire builders totally destroyed the command structure by disbanding the military and police, discharging from government those most competent and replacing them such that the heads of government were operating at their highest level of incompetence.
