Amid a spate of protests and violent military crackdowns on those protests, Israeli officials are ratcheting up the rhetoric, with Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon urging the summary executions of all stone-throwers in a nationally televised conference, insisting the nation needs to “liquidate” them “immediately and on the spot.”
Ya’alon is urging all Israeli civilians to carry guns so they can shoot Palestinian “terrorists” at sight, saying the important thing in all cases is that “the terrorists are shot dead, and our people aren’t.” while seen by most as simply grandstanding, the policy seems to be taking hold among Israeli police.
Indeed, a video has been making the rounds of Israeli police shooting an Israeli Arab woman at a bus station after she put her hands up, with Israeli defense officials warning the video could fuel unrest across the country. The shooting also fueled criticism from opposition MPs.
Joint List MP Basel Ghattas said the police were “implementing government policy, which is to shoot every Arab suspect on site.” He also criticized Israeli media outlets for referring to the woman as a “terrorist” even though she didn’t attack anybody.
There seems to be a cascading exposure of the true nature of Zionism – a Racist ideology that considers non-Jews to be not human – they are goyim, that is cattle. Of course Jewish stone throwers, and there are many "settler" fanatics throwing stones at Arabs and the IDF on the West Bank, are not to be shot on the spot. Why? Because they are human and all of the Other, are not. If you are not Jewish to Yaalon and his ilk you are not human. It is a religious tenet rooted in an interpretation scorned by most educated Jews in the Diaspora of several passages in the Talmud and preached by sublimely bigoted Torah Sages ever since. It has been put into effect during more than a century of Zionist encroachment upon humanity. All American aid to Israel should be withdrawn if for no other reason than it breaches our Constitutional wall between church and state which are one and the same for the Netanyahu regime and its Neanderthal level understanding of the Jewish religion.
I always have a bit of a Laugh when the Christian right think that they could go to Israel and live, or that they at all wanted there! Greek Orthodox priests no longer turn the other cheek when they are assaulted or spat upon by Orthodox Jews they retaliate, this has been necessitated by settler paybacks, who burn their churches, as well as assault them!
