US officials regularly claim ceasefire violations in Ukraine, and Russian invasions that “no one questions.” Though such allegations have long gotten a pass in the US media, the German government is expressing increased annoyance over what it is calling “dangerous propaganda” meant to sabotage the ceasefire.
The US claims, officials say, are often wildly inaccurate or unconfirmed. When US officials were hyping “40,000” Russian troops at the border and an imminent invasion, EU intelligence showed only 20,000 troops, and that no invasion was likely.
More recent claims of 50-plus Russian tanks crossing the border were similarly untrue, with European officials say the only evidence was for a handful of ramshackle armored vehicles crossing the border, and likely not military in origin.
US officials downplayed the disagreement, saying that “precise numbers” weren’t relevant, and that there is “no doubt” Russia is supporting the rebels. This may finally be the explanation, however, for how US claims of huge Russian military presences never come with any pictures of any Russian troops.
Charles Bausman of Russia-insider told Ry Dawson the anti Russian propaganda in the German press was "worse, if you can imagine that" than in US and that there was popular backlash motivating Merkel's 'peacemaking.' It is refreshing to find some guts in the EU to stand against the goebbelite utterances of the American operators who pretend to run their destinies. Remember, nothing stands between the Germans and the Russian Army. No matter how much the Poles posture, the fact they want US troops on the ground (MC Cain´s toes probably curl in pleasure, hearing them) shows that they are unable to defend themselves. Who would take the brunt?…Germany!. Nein, danke !! It is easy to understand that while the Americans want to keep their Ukrainian golem going the Germans are trying to keep it at bay. Who knows? this might be the chance for Europe to finally break the apron chains…

The "German government"? The report cited says nothing about the government. It refers only to "officials", i.e civil servants. Here in Europe, that's an enormous difference. Most likely this is a planted story intended to push Putin to make a deal with the EU mediators by reminding him indirecty of what's waiting for him down the road if he doesn't. What's established is that whoever is actually fighting the Ukrainian government, they are being openly supplied with arms and ammunition from Russia. Putin is therefore complicit in the fake "rebellion". At that point, arguments about who is actually fighting are just diversions.
Your propaganda that the opposition in Donbas and Lubyansk is a "fake 'rebellion'," is not flying anwhere, much less on this site.
Extremely interesting that Bausman admits he didn't know who Chris Hedges or Glenn Greenwald are until 6 mos ago when he started Russia insider. Is the message finally starting to get out beyond antiwar.com and Counterpunch?
From the interview it seemed to me there was a personal epiphany as he saw the newer outrageous lies especially about Russia/Ukraine, that he hadn't taken much interest in who was in the media critique biz but things finally looked egregious on topics he knew well. He, and friends, studied the matter, started a website and volunteer authors (especially) noticed it. So he found new friends… from there, if not before, I s'pect it was inevitable that certain names came up. So it doesn't seem to be a case of word-getting-out about specific outlets…
Right, but what I'm referring to and hoping is that there may be tens of thousands of people like him, who don't know who Chris Hedges or Glenn Greenwald are, but like Bausman have finally noticed they're being lied to but haven't had the know-how to start up a website or blog and maybe still don't know who Hedges or Greenwald are, but are starting to investigate alternate sites.
Might hold high hopes for his age range in particular. Shouldn't be any shortage of anomalies to have reflected back on as the "full retard" lies started piling on, e.g., 'saw' the Berlin wall 'fall' –jeez, there's still a NATO? But he seems fairly unusual…lotta personal interest and work on it.
