President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry are both refusing to meet with Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu during his upcoming visit. Nominally this is because the Israeli election is so close, but it seems to actually reflect growing anger over Netanyahu’s lobbying to Congress.
Officials revealed that on Monday, President Obama warned Netanyahu explicitly to stop pushing Congress for new sanctions against Iran. On Wednesday, Netanyahu announced his intention to give a speech to a joint session of Congress to do exactly that.
It’s unsurprising that the administration sees this as him having “spat in our face,” with the invite to shill for the sanctions coming from House Speaker John Boehner (R – OH) after Obama’s State of the Union speech and after Mossad was said to have warned Congress against the sanctions.
Congressional hawks are hoping Netanyahu’s visit will get them the support they need to override a promised presidential veto. and with most agreeing the sanctions would kill diplomacy with Iran that the president his invested over a year in, that visit is extremely unwelcome.
How about just keeping him from landing in the US.
What a great idea.
But then, how will Congressmen who depend on AIPAC funds get their blood money?
They'll put together another Congressional "fact-finding" junket (courtesy of the US taxpayer, btw) to Judea to personally collect their pieces of silver.
"Their pieces of silver"; but it will be far more than Judas collected; only 30 pieces. (and how did that work out for ole' Judas?).
Why should Netanyahu invade America? He and AIPAC already control our government.
Be practical. After the people have been conned into supporting him and his country is not the time to take diplomatic actions against him to protect your country's security. It's too late for that and it should have been prevented from happening in the first place. Obama, your president in name only, doesn't have the support of the people enough to go head to head with Natanyahu. And besides, the people perceive that he has the god on his side.
luv from Canada.
Huh? I'm being very practical. It's always time to protect the country's security. Isn't that what they themselves are telling us. Since when do presidents need the support of the people to do something?
Hey he has more power the the President of the US without congress backing.
Netanyahu is clearly intending to negotiate with Congressmen and Senators. This is a violation of the Logan Act. As his intentions are criminal he should be denied an entry visa. His Foreign Minister should likewise be barred in that he is a convicted felon, a child molester who beat a twelve year old boy senseless, Jewish in case you think being a Christian or Muslim Arab justifies such brutality.
In truth both savages should be barred under the general category of moral turpitude. America produces an adequate supply of sociopaths and to fill the offices in Washington. There is no need to import any more, even on a temporary basis.
Americans, be still, the Republicans have handed control of your country over to Netanyahu and he has everything under control. Don't you know that your best interests will be served? You schmucks!
luv from Canada.
i 2nd the motion, scramble NORAD & go to defcon,,, whatever, up the station alert status & ANNDD, remember the US Ship Liberty
Read Porter's report to find out that Obama is a liar and "won't reach a deal with Iran" http://www.campaigniran.org/casmii/?q=node/13559
It was during Obama regime that most of the illegal sanctions forced upon Iranian people. He is a war criminal
The Administration has to go to the American people and put AIPAC and Netanyahu in their place! A full disclosure of what's going on would outrage patriotic Americans and lead to a groundswell of outrage towards Netanyahu our Middle Eastern foreign policy as regards Israel v. "their own people" – the Palestinians. The media is so into the camp of the Israel-firsters that the Administration would have to bypass the major media in his efforts.
Oh America! Real Banana Republic. An elected president with no authority
