The US-led coalition has lost its first warplane of the ISIS war in Syria today, as ISIS shot down a Jordanian F-16 with a heat-seeking missile, capturing the pilot. The US denied that ISIS was the one that shot the plane down, but the capture was confirmed.
ISIS issued images of the captured pilot being paraded around their capital city of Raqqa. Jordan warned they are holding ISIS responsible for the safety of the captured pilot.
That’s probably not going to be a serious concern for ISIS, since Jordan and the other coalition members are already at war with them and bombing them on a daily basis.
It’s a much bigger concern for the coalition, as now that ISIS has proven its capability to shoot down coalition warplanes, it’s only a matter of time before they down some more, and as the losses mount, the lack of progress in the war is likely to become a more serious concern.
Disbanding 450.00 iraqi fighting men was not such a good idea now they are confronted by a trained army flush with millions taken from the iraqi central bank.
Or was that the plan? Wasn't the goal a perpetual war?
Right. Peace was a facade. ISIS is trained in Jordan and armed by the US with weapons from Afghanistan. I'm guessing the Americans have already talked to ISIS about the pilot.
What if they do shoot down US made aircraft? Makes a better case for US intervention (which was always the plan). This whole charade is preparation for a safe (Sunni) corridor from Qatar to Turkey or the Med coast for a proposed pipeline.
The plan is "controlled chaos" except that the Americans control only a fraction of the game they've started, so it will uncontrolled chaos and slaughter.
The winners? Big oil and weapons makers, as usual.
The next best thing is to leave the middle east do not stay hoping to win until they wear the colition down as afganistan iraq vietnam.
Poor guy. Hope things don't turn out too bad for him.
Your rectum is sucking air "BUB"
do they really have the ability to shoot down a f -16 or the pilot was being a moron and went under the safe altitude or is america for once telling the truth and the plane went down due to technical failure.
"Jordon holding ISIS responsible for safety of captured pilot"
Who was responsible for the safety of ISIS personel and civilians being bombed by this pilot before his aircraft crashed or was brought down?
It was the Russians!Oh wrong area.
“Jordan warned… holding ISIS responsible for safety of captured pilot”
Yes of course, a gentlemen’s war. But there is a peculiar problem here, for you see, Jordan and Syria do not clam to be a war with each other, and if the Islamic State were to make bombing runs with it’s fighter jets everyone would surely call it acts of terrorism.
So, if the Syria parents of bombed children demanded that the captured pilot be put on trial and then hang by the neck until he was dead, who in all honesty could deny them that right?
