The massacre of hundreds of members of the Albu Nimr tribe by ISIS was seen as potentially driving other Sunni tribes off the fence and into the arms of the Shi’ite government as an alternative to ISIS. It’s not working out that way.
Albu Nimr, a major Sunni tribe in the easternmost portion of the Anbar Province, was also one of the few that was still on good terms with the Iraqi government, though their fighting forces have been effectively wiped out in the ISIS purges around Hit.
They were trying to bring other Sunni tribes on board for expelling ISIS from Anbar, but there’s been no sign of any of these other tribes moving closer to the Iraqi government since the massacres, and they may well have had their intended effect of convincing the other tribes not to get involved.
ISIS has mostly relied on local Sunni tribes to run its expansive territory across Iraq and Syria, though on those occasions they have clashed with tribes, they’ve been extremely heavy-handed, trying to make an example out of the groups that resist their rule openly. It’s a dangerous game for ISIS to play as well, because they probably can’t fight too many tribes at once, and their economy is heavily dependent on keeping them at least partially on board with their continued rule.
There's a breaking point there somewhere. It seems like this thing would collapse from the weight of its internal contradictions if they'd just leave it alone.
Following the US example, ISIS will most likely fall at the hand of their own hubris.
Islamic State — Surely a CIA creation
What with our politicians and mainstream media owned body and soul by the corporate rich, the only logical assumptions of the real world that we can depend upon are educated guesses based on all the available facts.
So, if our CIA ordered the Islamic State to slaughter needlessly all those Sunni tribesmen, this would explain why ISIS is doing what is most perfect for Empire USA. For overwhelming is the hatred among Sunni tribes for the brutal imperialism coming out of the Iraq dictatorship, such that no motivation do they need to give full support to a moderate Islamic State. But, an extreme and heavy handed approach, surely this would drive the Sunni tribes back into the hands of the Iraq dictatorship.
That's why they're still tribes- unable to work together even in the face of such an adversary.
Continued massacres and bloodletting is part of the USG/Zionist agenda for the region.
Oboomer's claim that (his) war to (rid) the world of ISIS could take another 30 years
was (good) news for the war profiteers.
Remember the root cause of all the problems in Iraq. Remember Dubya. Then think of Saddam in comparison and how he kept it all together in Iraq. Iraq tribes will be united with ISIS before they are united against.
