In a speech today in Washington which was presented as a “warning” to Russia, Secretary of State John Kerry warned Russia would not be allowed to “change the security landscape” of Europe and that the US was prepared to defend “every single piece” of NATO territory.
There is no indication, of course, that Russia has any designs on any territory of any NATO member nations. Rather, that narrative has been advanced primarily by politicians in eastern NATO states, courting major boosts in US military aid.
Kerry insisted NATO unity was “vital” in moving against Russia, and the speech focused primarily, as US speeches on NATO tend to, on pressuring nations to step up military spending across Europe.
He went on to promise that the US and allies would “stand together in our defense of Ukraine,” dubbed the situation there a “defining moment” for NATO, and one which puts their entire structure at stake.
The only language by the USG since Second World War, wrong or right this is their language and politics explained to the world, its no longer democracy nor the idea, militarism is their answer. NATO should have been dismantled after the fall of the USSR and WARPAC. Its creation was to counter WARPAC. The only thing NATO does now is to serve as a global army. It's the banker's enforcement arm for regime change when financial and political thuggery fail.

With the EU past it's prime and showing signs of financial weakness and political disarray, Kerry's remark is more revealing than it first appears. What it apparently means, is that the US is becoming worried over the realization that, in addition to Crimea and the rest of Ukraine eventually joining the Russian Federation, there is a good chance that other former Soviet-bloc countries in eastern Europe (including one or more recent NATO members) might feel they would be better if they take the same course.
He seems to be insinuating that Ukraine is part of NATO. I just can't find an official NATO announcement that Ukraine has been granted membership. So, it raises the question if Kerry has finally decided to inhale?

Doesn't have to make sense. All we need to swallow is NATO already opposes a "Russian aggression" and seems determined to oppose it especially in Ukraine. Already a few NATO countries feel "endangered" so what more do you need?

Ukraine has certainly put the entire NATO structure at stake. Crimea was NATO's Munich. If Putin attacks the Baltic republics, and the logic of his "protect Russians living abroad" rhetoric implies that he will ultimately do so, and NATO doesn't defend its members, NATO can shut up shop. The problem is that the only purpose NATO has in post-cold war Europe is to provide a legal pretext for maintaining US forces and military supplies near to Israel, which can only be defended from western Europe. As always in the US, the central point is Israel.

US leaders don't give a rat's rump about the citizens of Europe, east or west, nor do they care about the lives of US troops they consider to be little more than temporarily useful "useless eaters." Why does Kerry sound like a complete lunatic? He is clearly speaking to some specific constituency with this ghost language. It's almost like a cop screaming "Stop resisting!" as he has you handcuffed on the ground and is beating your head to a pulp.
In all seriousness, however, this is a very worrying sign that the FedGov is about to "activate" a crisis in the Baltic states, where FedGov troops have been arriving and in which the provocateurs in the "media" are raising a ruckus for no apparent reason. The neutralization or elimination of Kaliningrad is the objective.
