Ukraine’s parliament today voted unanimously to approve joint military exercises with NATO in the coming months, including two sets of exercises with the United States, two with Poland, and one with Romania.
Ukrainian acting Defense Minister Mykhalio Koval said the move was a straightforward chance to improve the military’s capabilities, which are very much in doubt giving both the age of their equipment and a widespread defections during the Crimean annexation.
The move sparked a warning from the Russian Foreign Ministry against getting too cozy with NATO, saying growing Ukraine-NATO ties would cause problems both for Russia-NATO relations and for economic ties.
The warning went on to say that “future economic ties will largely depend on the actions Ukraine takes in its foreign policy.” Though Ukraine’s interim government is keen to improve ties with the EU, they remain greatly dependent on Russia for trade, especially in energy.
Ukraine-NATO is such a cumbersome term. Let's shorten it to NATZI, which has has a nice ring to it, in more ways than one.
"they remain greatly dependent on Russia for trade, especially in energy."
Especially in EVERYTHING: agriculture, gas, oil, manufacturing, military, natural resources,…did I leave anything out?
And what does EU/NATO/US have to offer? Jobs as waiters, prostitutes, and menial labour, NO healthcare, NO pensions, complete rape and pillage of ALL public assets for pennies on the dollar, and in general NO freaking future whatsoever. Good move Ukraine, welcome to Somalia!
And in the (eventual) event that things get out of hand and diplomacy (such as it is) fails and people start shooting at each other across borders, Ukraine will be the front line – there won't be enough of Ukraine after it's all over to scrape up for the dust bin. If the Ukrainian people have so much love for their country, one would think they could see past the tip of their noses at what most surely will happen.
Given that Ukraine was an economic basket case before the USG subverted the elected government, who is going to pay for these NATO war games? More than a few NATO nations are deep in debt to the IMF already, and can ill afford to fund their share of NATO sabre rattling, so I'm guessing that most of the funding will come from US taxpayers, one way or another. Once again, the US public's money will be used to create the conditions for corporations and banks to accumulate privately held profits that will be deposited to tax sheltered offshore accounts, joining the estimated $23-32 trillion already there. All perfectly legal, if absolutely immoral, because "it's just business."
On the upside though, the USD has a half life of about 3 years. The Yuan will, before this decade is out, be the de facto reserve currency. Countries trading in Yuan, Russia for example, will see their Yuan holdings value basically triple in a few months. Physical possession of gold, silver, and Yuan is the order of the day.
You can always depend on the biggest suckers on the planet, the U.S. taxpayer, to pick up the tab!
NATO is probably just being sent in to secure the pipelines from nationalist attack since they know that the Right Sector won't respond favorably to their grandmothers pensions being halfed and energy prices doubling in the next couple years. There will be a revolt in Ukraine when they start seeing what their democratic mob action hath wrought. We'll get to see the western media denounce Maidan only a month after they celebrated their "democratic" success. Of course the regular people that watch the MSM won't notice the hypocrisy at all. We are doomed as a nation because our people are so ignorant, and because the elite have convinced the people that to speak of politics in polite company is rude. Not to speak of politics in ignorant company is the height of child neglect, because these ignorant masses vote for those that would enslave us and our children.
This is a bold provocation by both the US and the "interim" ie puppet, govt. Out of "strategic", ie national defense considerations, Putin's responded decisively, shielding Crimea from the brownshirts, and facilitating the Crimean succession and reintegration with Russia. Now the Neocon puppets are, at US/Neocon (no doubt) urging, threatening NATO military forces in Putin's face? What, are they testing him? Are they trying to look tough? "NATO's on our side now, so you better watch out!"
My guess is the Neocons want their next war, and they're trying to provoke a Russian military reaction that will "force" NATO to respond. But will NATO be "forced"? I doubt it. Push to shove I don't believe the Europeans will support a (Neocon/US) war in their backyard.

The very fact that Ukraine dares to go so far tells us that Putin is beaten. Everybody knows it and Putin knows that everybody knows it.
Governments must have the consent of the governed. Considering the fact that all but 6000 military personnel have abandoned their posts, Ukrainians are looking at this as a pretend government.
They just keep jabbing the bear………
Inconsistency of US Government in dealing with countries not following their orders are so obvious they are ridiculous. When Slovakia's leader Meciar won again elections Madelaine Albright in 1997 then the Secreattary ofthe State came over to visit Slovakia and very unpolitely called it "The Black Hole of Europe". Slovaks had to meet numerous hits if they wanted to be a part of NATO.
We, Slovaks did not have enough Nazis around so it looked like it was. But Slovaks (for historical point of view) wanted to get into NATO. So they had to grovel in front of Masters just to get it. Suddenly with Ukraine is everything so easy. State of Ukraine is very near to total collapse, which Slovakia was not at the time of famous name calling from US Secretary of State. But Ukraine is nevertheless offered all knds of shorcuts, even US Congress approves substantial monetary support for illegal government of Ukraine. This makes this support for Ukraine itself illegal under of US law.
IF I was a member of the Ukrainian coup and wanted to be a member of NATO, I would invite NATO to have war games in the Ukraine and join as soon as there were ample NATO troops within my boarders. IF I was Putin, I would invade before that happened. I'm a peacenik but not a fool. It is becoming transparent that the US wants war.
I pray that I am wrong.
Yes, they will ! They gladly invited the US to deploy missiles in Romania and Poland. They get a lot of Dollars. And in Cadiz they are happy for the four ships stationed there of the 32 ships to be deployed in the Mediterranean Sea with missiles. The Americans and their families give a lot of business to the city !
That it leads to Launch On Warning and Suicide doesn't matter. But probably, the Pentagon and Washington, etc are not aware that the missiles are SUICIDAL ???
The Ukraine parliament needs to be referred as the illegitimate Ukraine parliament.
Ukraine is toast, just like Taiwan. A group of us guys needs to go to Ukraine and bring over some of those Ukrainian babes before they are either reduced to whores, strippers, or vaporized.
