The P5+1 deal with Iran may be finalized, but keeping it intact is still a battle, as the sanctions relief in the deal is under immediate threat from the US Congress, where hawks are threatening to impose more sanctions on Iran.
For some, like Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R – GA), the argument is that Iran is in a weak position right now and the sanctions could really stick it to them and dictate even harsher terms. Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif is warning that new sanctions would kill the deal, however, and for many Congressmen, that’s the whole point.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D – NY) and others have made it no secret they oppose the deal, and are pushing new sanctions as a way to “protest” against the deal, and ideally sabotage it outright.
President Obama has opposed new sanctions, and is set to veto any such sanctions bills, meaning Congress would have to try to override a veto if it really wants to kill the deal. That would be extremely difficult, but with the Israeli lobbies behind them on the issue, a battle is looming.
This is a replay of the push by the same people for an attack on Syria.
It can be ended the same way, as that 70% of Americans make things clear to Congressmen over the holidays.
Sounds like it is time for the American people to ask all our politicians to become "AIPAC free."
Well !!
That did not take very long ,did it?
Can anybody trust and negotiate with OBAMA's America???
As the original inhabitants of the U.S.A. would have said " PALEFACES TALK WITH FORKED TONGUE."
Israel does not want a peace deal. A brokered peace deal with Iran will interfere with Israel's long term agenda which is (1) a larger country and (2) weakened and splintered States throughout the region. Israel therefore wants Iran to remain isolated and economically weakened via sanctions. Israel ultimately wants the dismemberment of Iran in a fashion similar to what occurred in Iraq starting in 2003.
During and after this process of Iran's destruction, the Jewish State will work to expel the native Gentiles from Jerusalem and Greater Israel. This however will take many years. War on Iran is useful since it takes attention away from the ongoing crime which is Israel's slow destruction of Palestinian society.
So what Israel needs now is more time to complete its conquests. This will require the vial assistance of a servile US congress and clueless American electorate. Everything is ready to go from what I can tell. Israel is still in the driver's seat. After all, who has more influence in Washington, NY and Hollywood?
Right on cue. Congress takes their marching orders from Israel and damn, their subservience is disgraceful if not outright treason.
What this deal basically said, is that Iran is now officially a nuclear power nation. this doesn't fit into Netanyahu and AIPAC plans for total domination of the middle east, and at some point in the coming months they are going to do something very stupid.
We Americans should sit back and look at who in Congress is against the US negotiators and who are pro-Israel. The Schumer's, Cantor's, et al. are either dual US-Israeli citizens or are avid pro Zionists. And yes, there are several non-Jews who also support Israel's wishes versus what is best for America because of their kooky Christian millennial beliefs. If the representation in Congress was proportional to their proportion of the population, their would be 3 senators and 14 house representatives to deal with instead of the grossly over-represented numbers that are currently sitting. This should be remembered in future elections.
A State gets 2 Senators regardless of population. If California gets 2 Senators, then surely that's all Israel could get. Although I could see Israel having the nerve to ask for three as a part of their statehood request.
I gotta object to the characterization "hawkish leadership." "Hawkish" is technically correct as in advocating war and policies leading to war, but it doesn't exactly describe warmongering on behalf of a foreign nation. I certainly wouldn't call it leadership: more like treachery.
John Bolton is going apoplectic over at the Weekly Standard 🙂
Hope he has a stroke.
"President Obama has opposed new sanctions"
It should be first said that Obama has previously created new illegal sanctions, both against Iran and Cuba.
Senators like Chambliss who advocate sanctions need to be arrested and tried for advocating and supporting illegal use of dictatorial coercion against Iran.
The US has no legal right to do any of this to Iran, and is in fact breaking the law by doing so: countries with nuclear energy are obligated under law to help other countries use nuclear energy.
The US and a couple of its allies are alone in the world in using force to infringe on Iran's rights.
The US is again simply just being an outlaw criminal state.
So wonderful see our No. 1 Welfare Queen running the show…….. Because with all the billions WE have given them have been smartly invested in bribing and/or swaying our politicians with CASH, checks……& payoffs..plus acquiring far too mu!ch of our media…. Want to know what the Zionistsjj think, just turn on your TV, radio and you will get THEIR message… You gotta love their logic: Iran has no right to enrich uranium, but THEY have the right to produce as many nuclear weapons as they want, without ANY limits, questions, supervision, inspections or UN/IAEA permission. They think they're nuclear weapons program is sui generus……… All the while spying on us and selling our secrets to the highest bidders… e.g. Jonathan Pollard.. who was trading our nuclear warfare strategies to the Soviet union in exchange for increases in exit visas to Izreal…. our ally!? With allies like them, who needs enemies…. And throughout all we pony up billions & billions year in & year out, spying or no spying..!!

"Our" Congress that works for Netanyahu — what will they look like in history (if earth will have one)? Will they be compared with the Roman senators who bowed and scraped and fawned and worked for Caligula?

Who is working for America and Americans?
"Our" Congress that works for Netanyahu — what will they look like in history (if earth will have one)? Will they be compared with the Roman senators who bowed and scraped and fawned and worked for Caligula? Maybe not — Caligula was the emperor of those Romans, and Netanyahu is not (supposed to be) ours.

Let's keep in mind the backdrop – many of these same monsters backed ever more punishing sanctions I Iraq as hundreds of thousand of children died. We're approaching a real Nazi moment here. Who is going to oppose the American Nazis? Who is going to deNazify DC? And how can I join up?
