Egypt has become something of an information black hole as far as the Obama Administration is concerned. $1.5 billion in military aid goes there annually, but what happens there is never officially recognized, and by design.
So when Egyptian police killed over 100 civilian protesters on the streets of Cairo and wounded thousands of others in the latest post-coup massacre, it is hardly surprising that the White House took a firm position of “no comment” on the matter.
After all, this is the same White House which is explicitly arguing that since the law doesn’t require them to notice when a military coup takes place in an allied nation, they don’t intend to ever do so. Because the coup would mean US aid would have to be suspended, and the administration doesn’t want to do that, so its easier to just close their eyes.
Several in the Senate expressing “concern” about the killings, and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel reportedly called Army chief Gen. Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi, the de facto junta ruler, urging “restraint.”
But while Sen. Dick Durbin (D – IL) said that the killings were “unacceptable,” he also praised the long-standing US relationship with Egypt’s military, suggesting that the determination to keep the issue of massacres from being a serious problem will continue to have momentum.
We said it from day one, Obama politics although the core of it is based on Bushism Neo fascism but to be able to fool and play everyone is to manipulate the situation, Egypt is an example, Syria is another, Africa is yet another, supporting Muslim brotherhood while supporting israel apartheid regime one day and then the other is another. He either have no idea what his doing or his manipulating where he can create situation as Egypt and Syria sending in the saudis barbarians while spying on the world and dividing nations to see what will develop later. Mean while both sides are fooled and played where people start killing each other and the gas price is high jacked by Saudis, UAE and American people pay for the costs of these killings by paying for high priced gas, there is no shortage of gas nor the production is short of refinery's, So why high price of gas? This is how a manipulative idea manipulating a situation without being involved nor wanting to have any peace and for these wars to continue and getting wider by the day. The Syrian war is on the doorstep of Turkey and Egypt and northern African nations are next. As Obama have said, is going to get messy, and indeed a manipulative foreign policy is a messy business.
Look: the time is 2013, is time for a functioning democracy by the people and for the people, such democracy needs to be governed by the people and not the corporates of manipulations.
SHAME !! SHAME!! SHAME!!
How disgustingly LOW can America's current President and Lawmakers sink?
And these are the people who espouse freedom for all peoples and seek to impose their "values" on the rest of the world.
Hang your heads in shame and cover the "yellow" spine down your back with your "star spangled banner".
The US government is very slow on realizing the extent that their once secret deliberations and worldwide machinations are exposed for the world to see. Thanks to the interwebs and people like Manning and Snowden. But, they don't care because they're not going to change what they do just because the masses are watching. The "citizens" will complain and protest and write damning editorials in the pwned mainstream news rags but nothing will change because the Archons are doing what THEY believe is best for the country. What the "citizens" believe or want is irrelevant because, well, they're not Archons and therefore not vested.
The USG doesn't care what the citizens think…and many of the citizens don't care (or think, for that matter.)
libya & tunisia, like egypt, are in the process of overthrowing our puppet Islamist (mostly MB) govts.
MSM, from Murdoch to BBC/Aljazeera/Guardian/NYT are keeping the flames alight in egypt for Morsi, while totally ignoring libya & tunisia. meanwhile, we are supporting MB in Syria to overthrow Assad. wherever u look, the west is supporting MB, yet american pundits, especially "progressives" like Max Blumenthal, think they know better!
And when the U.S. gov turns the guns on the American people?
Meanwhile in Turkey the response was quite a lot less tolerant to a crackdown by the Army that was a LOT LESS bloody and violent.
Amazin. How many times we hear about that fuckin' Malala or the Iranian broad Neda??? Or Assad slaughtering his own people? Or Danny effing Pearl of Gilad "Shit" Shalit? Will someone please draw the curtain on this farce?
As long as the US are sending money over there, I think the citizens should be informed about the state of things in that country.
They wouldn't have been so silent if american citizens would have been harmed during the attack.
I don't know why fundings keep going to these violent places. They only aid the war effort….and not in a good way
