Speaking to Senators today, Secretary of State John Kerry warned that it was vital to “resolve” the ongoing Syrian Civil War in a timely fashion, saying the nation risks “enclave breakup” otherwise.
When Secretary Kerry talks, to be clear, of a “political resolution” in Syria, he is referring to repeated US demands that Assad unilaterally resign and allow foreign backed rebels to form a new government.
Yet concern that the rebels aren’t united is palpable, as is the fear of al-Qaeda’s dominance of post-Assad Syria. To that end, Kerry called on the various nations backing the rebels to get “on the same page” about the new regime’s makeup, suggesting that what Syria’s rebels want, let alone Syria’s people, means little to nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Kerry has pledged another $100 million in military aid to the rebels, saying that it is important for the US to back its favorite rebel factions as a way of increasing confidence about post-Assad Syria.

Kerry is absolute moron, and he seems to have learned nothing from Vietnam. Anyone with a conscience would stop arming and paying the rebels, and get them out of Syria, so that the government would finally have a chance to establish some measure of peace and so that elections could take place next year. Kerry, his boss (B.O.) and his boss' bosses (the unspeakable) are afraid Assad will win in an open and fair election if he can survive the year. They're probably right.
It is an embarrassment that the U.S. cannot respect international law and that the world must rely on Russia, China and the BRICS countries to uphold it.
