US officials are expressing “strong concerns” at the Iranian military’s attempt to shoot down a military drone looming off the Iranian coast, saying that transmitted a complaint by way of the Swiss embassy.
Iran’s Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi confirmed the incident but insisted that the drone was inside Iranian airspace at the time, and that chasing it out with warplanes was a legitimate defensive action.
US officials maintain that the drone was just slightly outside of Iranian airspace, but the difference in the two versions is only one of a couple of miles. Defense Minister Vahidi also said Iran would follow up on the claimed violation with “the appropriate international bodies.”
In the end, few nations are liable to blame Iran for acting against a US drone after years of administration bellicosity toward them either way, especially since the drone wasn’t even damaged in the chase. And while the media may be hysterical for a few days about “Iranian aggression” or the fact that the incident happened before the US election but was hushed up, only to emerge immediately thereafter, it is unlikely to lead to any real policy changes; just another example of the ‘background noise’ in the tense US-Iran relationship.
What isnt said here is that a little further down the coast, there is the Bushehr Nuclear reactor, A US Predator Drone crashed into the reactor would make a serious mess, No country lets another "enemy" anywhere near its reactors, it is a given that Any country that flew a drone even 20 miles from a US Reactor would have it shot down, hell in the US they will even shoot down suspect US aircraft that do so.
We know from Fukashima that all that's needed to do to a nuclear reactor is to take out a) the connection to off-site power, and b) the backup generators. Result is a reactor that melts down because it can't cool the very hot reactor core. Don't even need to crash the drone … the missiles mounted on these drones could do that job.
Yeah, I can picture the way the American Goebbels would react to an Iranian drone armed with missiles flying 12.1 miles away from an American nuclear reactor.
The drone was mapping out Iran's defenses, an essential part of any intended military action by the US/Israel. Given that the US-imposed blockade is effectively an act of war, Iran is fully justified in defending itself against external aggressors.
According to America, Iran should do no more than lie back and let itself be trampled all over.
Iran is hardly likely to do this and neither should it. It's time the world bully was knocked off its perch, brought down to size, learned a bit of humility.
If nations combine it can be done!
Why does US governments hate Iran? Because they threw out the torturing satan, the Shah of Persia, even though he was only using those sweet techniques to break any person developed and exported by the US via CIA to countries like Iran (a failure), Vietnam (a failure), The Philippines (a failure).
Now any people that demonstrates the vulgar idiocy of American imperialism always are deserving to become collectively punished! That is part of the system of control internationally.
That is, in short, the essence of Americans love for themselves, and hate for anybody showing them off as cheap manipulators, relying on fear and power mongering, empty declarations, wordsplitting denials of anything, anywhere, anytime.
Time will probably prove, that this imperium did not last either – as a simple, but longer term effect of degrading the home population to robots of spin, believing very little, renewing very little, seeing no collective future of lasting human meaning. For one thing: Victims of torture are also the perpetrators, becoming humanly altered – remember the grinning faces of torturers at Abu Ghraib!
"saying that transmitted a complaint by way of the Swiss embassy"
How did the drone do THAT? "Cyberdyne Systems Model 101" with wings?
I have a couple of question :
How dare those Persian defend their country ? And where do they get off having a country next to our military bases ? 🙂
All joking aside – Lets ask ourselves …. What would we have done if the shoe was on the other foot ? A welcome party for an invading drone ?
First denials by the US were "it was "well" outside Iranian airspace…now the denials are "just slightly outside of Iranian airspace"…the next denial, immediately after the Iranians release radar captured flight data will be…."well, it must be a malfunction of their radar or our flight guidance operators…take your pick.
Wanting to be sure if the Iranian space could be penetrated so they used their latest model drone, it was not a success so why should they bring it up before election, that alone would change lots of people's mind voting fir Obama again. But you haven't seen nothing yet, us and EU only options are to start talking for real, giving up their militarism attitude toward nations in Middle East and give up their support for the core in terrorism in Saudi Arabia to Qatar and beyond. Look Taliban and al Qaeda are from Saudi Arabia, brought by bush regime and introduced to the world by his regime, what do you expect they want more and more without listening to their masters any more.
Remember the original first report by CNN? At the end they wrote something like the Iranians are blablabla agreesive, blablabla because they chased the drone all the way south east of Kuwait.
Did anybody see CNN retract their report? American MSM are scum and whoever watches them for news value is also scum.
As Bob Uecker would say … "Just a bit outside"
One spokesperson has already slipped up. In the WaPo, normally a place where you would only find the most sanitized propaganda … "An Iranian Su-25 fighter jet pursued the U.S. drone as it retreated from Iranian airspace, the spokesman said. The American aircraft does not appear to have been struck and landed safely at an unidentified base in the region."
Note the 'as it retreated from Iranian airspace'.

The Iranians are one step ahead of america/israel they have been around for seven thousand years plus they will not let that upstart america to call the shots and goad them into armed conflict.
Maybe Pakistan should take notice of what Iran did and shoot down those drones. Says a lot of how complicit Pakistan is in killing their own people in the tribal lands.
