US allegations that Iran was smuggling weapons through Iraqi airspace emerged earlier this month, but after the Iraqi government demanded “evidence” and none was provided the whole story seemingly died, at least for awhile.
Sen. John Kerry (D – MA) has now reportedly threatened a full “review” of all US aid to the Iraqi government unless they immediately and unconditionally halt all Iranian access to their airspace.
The allegation now is that not only are cargo aircrafts supposedly sending weapons into Syria from Iran, but that civilian aircraft in general are being stocked full of troops and weapons by Iran and that any plane leaving Iran is automatically suspect.
The US had initially demanded that Iraq force Iran to land all outgoing aircraft in their airports to search them, which Iraq said it had no intention of doing without evidence. The US has not provided evidence for the new allegations either, rather presenting them as assumptions.
Sen. John Kerry (D – Israel).
You're right about Kerry's alliances, but I doubt ending aid to Iraq or any other Middle Eastern country would help Israel. It would just solidify Islamist grasp in the Middle East. It's bound to happen regardless, so maybe it's better to end the aid sooner rather than later. The Isolation of America and Western Europe (including Israel) in places it doesn't belong continues.
Actually I'd like all those R's and D's be replaced by T – as in "traitor". Now that's a change I can hope in.
All US Senators (D-Israel)
Pure bluster…especially coming from Kerry. There is abso no chance that they'll withhold any "aid" to Iraq because al Maliki would flip to Iran in a heartbeat – and make it official. All those oil companies would suddenly be without government protection and liable to nationalization – wouldn't that be a kicker.
Kerry began his political career by running as an anti-war Vietnam vet.. He was dependable for anti war votes in the Senate…… until you guessed it….. 911…… AND his run for the presidency too…….. It would have political suicide after 911 to vote against…… war….. Any war..!! Also, there was the swift boat attack…. on his character… Kerry was a genuine voice for peace and co-existence until 911…
Kerry based his 2004 presidential campaign on opposition to the Iraq War. [BUT he had in fact voted FOR the war… as I remember… ] Since then he has steadily gone more and more hawkish…. He as the Chairman of foreign relations committee has been involved in negotiations with Pakistan around Rayond Davis and other matters of mutual concern… He seems to get worse ans worse from my point of view….. An unknown named O'Reilley ran a primary against him and got 33% of the vote…
