Mortar shells hit civilian crowds in marketplace in a Palestinian refugee camp in the Syrian capital of Damascus, killing 21 people as regime forces and rebels continued fighting on Friday.
The Britain-based Syria Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported the deaths, but would not speculate on who had fired the mortar shells, adding that they could have been strays from the fighting in nearby Tadamon neighborhood.
“We don’t know where the mortars came from, whether they were from the Syrian regime or not the Syrian regime,” said Rami Abdul Rahman, director of SOHR.
Syria’s state news agency blamed the bombardment on “terrorist mercenaries,” referring to the foreign-backed rebel fighters, some of whom have ties to al-Qaeda.
Where these mortars really came from is not known. It is unlikely that either side would have had an interest in bombing Palestinians, meaning these shells could very well have been strays.
There is one country that has been reported to be actively fighting in Syria, supporting al-queda and hates palestinians.
Rami Abdul Rahman, director AND ONLY REAL MEMBER of the patently bogus SOHR.
Palestinians have been protected by and been benefactors of the Syrian government for a long time. This reminds me of how the Wahhabi Gulf Arabs persecuted the Palestinians among them during the first Iraq War because the Palestinians supported Saddam Hussein.
Actually, while neither Asad's government nor the so-called rebels have a formal interest in bombing a Palestinian refugee camp, the fact of the matter is that internal Syrian chaos is desired and beneficial for a select group of states, including Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Sure, it could be a mistake. But, I would not dismiss the alternative. What better way to hasten Syria's plunge into a full on civil war than by adding MORE polarized groups into the violent frenzy?
Who benefited from the so-called sectarian divisions and infighting that took place in Iraq in the post-U.S. invasion? The U.S. benefited, as did Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, Saudi Arabia AND Israel.
But the biggest agitator in the region, the one state that invests most of its regional resources in destabilizing Arab and Moslem states using simple divide and control tactics happens to be none other than Israel.
Israel's rationale is simple, 'So long as they are fighting among each other, they'll stay busy and distracted so we can go on with our agenda.'
Another civil war, another "market place attack". One of the best known "Market attack" was one attack of muslim so called Bosnians blamed on evil Serbs. On those Serbs who fought Nazis instead of fighting alongside as Balkan's Muslims did. A PR agency man who handled whole thing for "Bosniacs" let us know, that they had to overcome very well known perceptions. So they had done it by these false "market place attack" two or three "bread line attacs" blamed on evil Serbs.
What if the same PR agency is dealing with "rebels" in Syria?
