According to new reports, the Saudi and Qatari governments are sending additional weapons to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) this week, having transported them by way of Turkey to the northern Syrian border. The extra armament comes as the FSA has repudiated the UN ceasefire and launched several major attacks against government forces.
The fighting has reached a level where UN peacekeeping chief Herve Ladsous says that Syria is now in a state of full-scale civil war, adding that the regime has lost “some large chunks of territory” including several cities.
Previous instances of the Saudis and other nations arming Syria had come with claims that the US was helping with the smuggling of weapons across the border. There was no similar claim this time, though the US was predictably up in arms about reported arms shipments on the other side.
In this case it was the Russian government, which has reportedly sent new attack helicopters to the regime. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned that the helicopters harmed the prospect for peace in Syria and were an escalation, though at this point it seems that the ship has already sailed on negotiation and both sides are gearing up for a proxy war, with the West and the Saudis backing the FSA and Russia and Iran backing the regime.
Hypocrisy and double standards. Will Hillary speak against the Gulf states arming the insurgency in Syria? Or is it good when they do the arming only?

Then…the next second John Kerry is explaining how 'we' need to provide military training and arms to the "Syrian opposition" so as to prepare the "Syrian opposition" to engage in a"Civil War" in Syria in order to violently overthrow the Assad regime; however, according to Mr. Kerry, the "situation on the ground" in Syria is not quite opportune at this time to overthrow Assad (for reasons apparently not even worth wasting a thought on)… Even so, 'we' apparently 'need' to continue 'our' attempt to violently overthrow the Assad regime in one form or another, therefore, these proposed "safe zones"can serve as a quasi "Civil War Academy", so to speak, for the "revolutionaries" in waiting….at least this seems to be the proposal and theory of how they will function…
In actual practice, however, I'm sure the "safe zones" would never even exist in the first place; rather they would simply be used as a pretext for the US/NATO air force to bomb the crap out of Syria and function as the de facto air-force for the US/NATO backed Syrian "revolutionaries"….but that's a different subject…

The US only respects force and they would have already bypassed the Security Council and launched an illegal bombing campaign a la Kosovo if it were not for the fact that Russian S300 anti-aircraft and anti-cruise missile systems are going to fire back…with a high likelihood of bringing down many intruding aircraft…
I do not see any way that Obummer is going to call Putin out…so they will go to plan B which is to arm the terrorists and to try to set up "safe havens" using their UN puppet Ban Ki Moon to choreograph this charade…just like the scam with the "refugee" camps in Turkey which are nothing but terrorist training camps for foreign mercenaries…
Problem with Plan B is that without effective Nato air cover the rebels are NOT going to win…there will be something that looks like a civil war in that the Syrian government forces, supplied with top notch weapons for the job including helos, etc…will liquidate this mercenary army and will not pull any punches from here on in…

This isn't about "democracy"…this isn't about the "Syrian people"… I could get into all that, but I see it as unnecessary at this time. Hillary, Obama, Romney, McCain, the US Congress in general and their UN agency stooges care about as much, if not less, about the "Syrian People" and "democracy" in Syria (or even in the US for that matter) as a suicide car bomber driving in downtown Damascus…
The US also kept the rallies for Gadaffi out of the press when almost a fifth of his country held huge demonstrations in support of him and in opposition to NATO and the US. Now we see civil war with tribes pitted against the government. This is going to be a massacre and when civilian airplanes begin falling ut of the sky and terror bombings begin we will have no one to blame but ourselves and our interventionalist ways. At least Syria will be fighting al Qaeda for us. I wonder when Hezbollah and Spetsnaz will be involved. Funny how the cowardly Sunnis never stood up to the Israelis and yet Hezbollah defended the people of Lebanon. Nasrallah accepted a Sunni president in Lebanon and seeks inclusive government and religious tolerence, yet it is the Saudis who foment sectarian violence and have hurt Islamist and Palestinian interests while the Saudis are puppets of the US and Israel. Frankly, we are at a point where I believe little of what the UN says.
Russia is just doing to syria what America has been doing in Afghanistan for years. Russia is giving aid to the government in power. America was doing the same thing. Giving aid to the government in power. It's the same exact thing. If everybody just STAYS out of it, the syrians will deal with it themselves. There will be a civil war, and they will battle it out themselves. If they decide to get involved, then it will be all over for the world. Syria gets bombed on, which escalates to Iran then to russia and then american cities will be blown up.
And keeping with the fine traditions of Iran where Neda was murdered.
