A number of US consular employees were detained today in the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar, after they refused to allow police to search their vehicle at a checkpoint, and the police, who searched the car anyhow, found a collection of illegal arms inside.
The US consul general insists that the employees, who were quickly released after the US warned them against detentions, were returning from an “education event for underprivileged children.” They made no attempt to explain the weapons.
The incident brings back memories of last year’s Raymond Davis incident, in which the man officially licensed as a “consular employee” killed two Pakistanis in Lahore. Davis was eventually revealed to be a top CIA official operating secretly under the guise of a diplomat, though US officials still demanded he be released under his diplomatic immunity as a consular employee.
This is certain to add to the already tense US-Pakistan relationship, and will probably keep Pakistanis regarding US diplomats with suspicion. Pakistani law makes it clear that diplomats are not allowed to carry weapons.
Pakistan should tell the US that it will consider armed US citizens regardless of their diplomatic status to be Terrorists and subject to Summarary execution, just as the US considers Pakistans citizens subject to summarary execution by similar summarary execution by Drone aircraft.
No kitten replies from, the lion……………
Pakistan is one of those countries that US has a plan to destabilize and by all means, Pakistan is one of those countries that US and NATO have a plan to "must have a military base" no matter what. Pakistan is very important, strategically, for US and NATO because of the fact that US and NATO are after controlling the persian gulf and its Oil flow, occupying Pakistan is vital to US and NATO because of up coming wars planed by US and NATO in the region with Iran for example, finally it is a vital place due to the third world war which US and NATO are engaged and having planed for. Other wise US and NATO wouldn't give a damn, they never have about how poorly people live in that part of the world, nor at home in US or EU growing poverty, what these regimes are interested is war and war; therefore, they are engaged contacting every nation in the area, wanting to militarize the entire middle east, having US and NATO military bases all over the Pacific Ocean and beyond. We said that from the beginning, there is no democracy in US nor in Europe, for now, these regimes are nothing but a militarism regime and hand in hand with neo fascism they are growing getting more and more involved in wars then any other time in mankind history.
Everyone everywhere should be regarding US 'diplomats' with suspicion.
Pakistan’s government officials are traitors with no balls. They should all be sacked and replaced by those who can protect the honor and sovereignty of Pakistan.
I nominate Imran Khan……………….. in spite of the fact he could be a mole-cum-Trojan horse like "our" Obama…………….. Who else is there that will not sell out for personal enrichment………
And once they're sacked and replaced, they can come to the US and run for Congress in the GOP ticket. They've already have the experience and skills necessary to become very successful.
Off to a gun show for the kiddies, were they? How humane.
More Raymond Davis hit-men posing as diplomats…?????
The Pakistan government should immediately shut down the US Consulate. They have been caught spying and setting up coups in many countries and should be considered a danger to any nation wishing to have peace and sovereignty.
Since these 'diplomats' have the sang froid to go to dangerous places in Pakistan on their own, the Pakistani government should warn the Department of State that if bad things happen to these 'diplomats', Pakistan should wash its hands of whatever may happen to these gentle-men.
Imagine that! All CIA-card carrying members a-la-Raymond Davis, I'm sure.
Since when do US consular personnel do "educational events for underprivileged children"? Has anyone confirmed such an event, and confirmed the presence and role of the agents- I mean, consular personnel- at that event?
In any case, the weapons are a dead giveaway- if the Pakistanis wanted to play hardball, they'd be well within their rights to eject the men in question, no explanation needed. Then again, they might also be within their rights to shoot them on the spot for being potential terrorists or spies. There are reasons we have diplomatic rules, and when we break them bad things can happen.
