In comments today with al-Arabiya Television key Iraqi cleric Moqtada al-Sadr announced that he would continue resisting any US presence inside Iraq after the year-end deadline, even if the US military itself completes its pullout.
“The American occupation will stay in Iraq under different names,” Sadr said, pointing to the massive number of private contractors the US State Department is hiring for its “private army,” a force in excess of 10,000.
“If they stay in Iraq, through a military or non-military presence, we will consider them an occupation and we will resist them whatever the price will be,” warned Sadr. The forces are expected to be used in combat around the nation.
And this is only a small portion of the US “remnant” force in Iraq, which will also include a massive number of combat troops stationed in neighboring Kuwait, poised to attack targets inside Iraq at a moment’s notice.
"Sadr vows to continue to resist US in Iraq"
Isn't that called a patriot? Maybe Bill O'Reilly will commend him for his patriotism?
Now is the time for the Iraqis to start declaring thousands of those mercenaries as "Persona non grata". It's the polite diplomatic phrase that means "Get Out". It's typical of the grand Chutzpah
(Shameless audacity) of State and DOD that they think the Iraqis want us to stay.
It's refreshing to see that at least a few people still have some convictions and can't be bought off like so many others have allowed themselves to be. Hopefully, when the US loses it's hegemony overseas, maybe here at home we can get a taste of freedom too. It's sad that many people in the US don't see that a victory for the US government is a defeat for freedom, both overseas and at home.

Great statement Stephen! Seriously very profound and simple truth at the same time. That's going in my collection of quotes!
