Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked President Barak Obama after his United Nations speech defending opposition to Palestinian statehood, saying the US president wore “a badge of honor” by insisting Palestinians abandon their bid for statehood and rejoin the failed pro-Israeli “peace talks.”
In his speech, Obama claimed that peace could only be reached through negotiations, not through a UN vote, which he called a short cut. He failed, as has every US leader opposing the Palestinian bid, to explain why peace could not be reached in negotiations where both sides – Israel and Palestine – are on a level playing field, each having all the rights the international system affords to states.
Despite the public oratory against a Palestinian bid for statehood that enjoys support from the overwhelming majority of the UN members, the Palestinian Authority refused to back down, insisting there would be no delay. “We will not allow any political maneuvering on this issue,” said Saeb Erekat, a senior aide to PA President Mahmoud Abbas and former chief of negotiations.
Abbas will submit his formal request for UN statehood after his speech on Friday. Although the US plans to veto the Security Council resolution, the effort could be the first step towards pressuring the US and Israel to conform to world opinion and end the occupation of Palestinians.
"Pressuring the USA and Israel to conform to world opinion" is a bunch of bull. Both countries think that they are populated with "exceptional" people and the rest of the world can go to hell. US foreign policy has never been waged with the good of all mankind in mind. And as long as the pro-Zionist elements in the USA have the ear of most members of Congress nothing will change. And after 81 senators and house reps accepted a pre-paid trip to Israel along with their wives to be indoctrinated by one side, there can never be fairness in the process. The site has "filters" that flag comments with certain words, so as to intercept postings that may be offensive (where offensive is defined by the site owners). What you need to do is learn what those words are so you can stick in an asterisk — as in "offend*ng w*rd" for "offending word" — so as to bypass the filter. The filters flag profanity of course, so if you want to write h*ll, or d*mn, or sh*t — you know, for emphasis ;-} — then you have to do it with asterisks. The filters used to flag J*w and Zion*st; don't know if they still do. I would bet that the filters also flag n*gger, k*ke, and similar terms, though I've never had reason to run afoul of those.
The other day, I tried to use the word b*tch (with an "i"). The comment got posted — not flagged — but the filters replaced all five letters with asterisks, so I had to go back and edit the word, but this time I used one asterisk for the " i ".
When in doubt, post a comment composed of just the one word you think may be a problem, and see what happens. If it is flagged for moderation, post again with the asterisk, to confirm the work-around.

For the Rabbi I follow (Jesus) it was simple. Love for God, and respect for fellow men. That seemed to be consistent with the 7 laws of Noah.
