According to Iraqi MP Unadim Kanna, the head and sole MP from the independent Assyrian Christian Rafidain Bloc, the Iraqi government has yet to make a decision on the US demands to keep troops in the nation beyond December.
The US has repeatedly demanded that the Iraqi government allow them to break the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) condition requiring them to leave by December. The Maliki government previously ruled this out, but is now taking a more open stance on it.
According to Kanna, only the Sadrist Trend took a specific position on the issue so far, demanding, as expected, that the US abide by the SOFA and leave on schedule. The only other agreement came between State of Law and Iraqiya, who agreed to stop condemning one another in the media.
But while the Sadrist Trend is the only sure bet on the US occupation, they may well be enough. The group dominates the Iraqi National Alliance, a key portion of the coalition government, and its leader Moqtada al-Sadr also commands the loyalty of massive numbers of people, making his position extremely dangerous to contest.
US needs to get out of Iraq now, US needs to stop pretending that there is no war in Libya and that US is not involved in Libyan war.., US involved everywhere where they can steal the peoples wealth. US is more involved in Libya and Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan then any other government.., Look.., there is a democratic president in US, his been lying to his own people since day one.., he needs to be reelected.., and the only way he can do that is to create jobs.., that job is in Africa.., that job is in that $53 billion dollars that is about to be stolen by China, US and EU, that job is for US, China and EU companies(Including Russians) to invest in Africa, that job is forced upon African Union by creating the war in Libya.., that job needs more investors whom are Saudis and Arab Emirates and Kuwaitis tyrants regime.., that job needs more wars in Africa and other places in this world.., its all based on a falsified politics played and orchestrated by US and EU "democratic" parties.
They might have to start looking for Maliki's WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION. That oughta do it!
Do you think they'll have the same level of success as they did looking for Bush's WMD?
Since there is no 'official' decision yet, the US *MUST* assume the SOFA will end on schedule, and thus we should already be packing our trash and getting ready to leave (since, of course, we've already been told it will take months to get all our stuff out). So, too, must the civilian contractors and private firms operating in-country; they need to be closing up shop as well.
HOWEVER… don't hold your breath over this- it's pretty clear the US has no (and never has had) intentions of leaving as we stipulated. It's just another piece of paper to be ignored- you know, like the Constitution?
Demanded? Why would there be a need for the US to demand the request from Iraqis? If the Iraqis truly wanted the US to stay, they will ask. There is no need for the US to demand it. The nerve! Imagine a house guest that just won't leave, then, to add insult to injury, "demands" that they be invited to stay another night!
