Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Monday issued another warning to the US, saying that if the US bombs Iran again, Iranian forces would expand the “geography of the war.”
“If another aggression takes place, there will certainly be significant changes in our defense and our counterattack,” said IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi, according to Iran’s PressTV. “We will definitely change the geography of the war.”
He added that Iran would also introduce new weapons and military equipment that would “astound” the world and said that the US has “been defeated in this war … but it does not have the courage to admit and accept this defeat.”
Mohebbi’s comments came a day after President Trump said he was in a “deciding mode” and was considering whether to blow up the “entire nation” of Iran, echoing threats he has made to destroy the country throughout the war.
Tensions remain high in the region as the US continues to enforce a blockade of Iranian ports, and commercial ships continue to come under attack in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said that two ships had been struck on Monday either by an “unknown projectile” or debris from one in the Strait of Hormuz, according to France24. The IRGC also announced on Monday that its forces shot down another US MQ-1 drone over the strait.
