Continuing the escalation of Israeli military operations against southwest Syria, the IDF attacked a group of civilians in the village of Jamla, in the Daraa Governorate, opening fire on the group for seemingly no apparent reason.
Two children were reported wounded in the attack. Neither Syria nor Israel has yet issued a statement on the incident. While Israeli military presence is increasingly common in the Yarmouk River Basin, where Jamla is located, shootings are still comparatively rare and one would think this would be a significant enough incident to produce some sort of explanation.
This is largely the reality for the IDF in Syria, however, where a dozen military operations can be conducted along the frontier without a single IDF statement ever being issued. This has left the increasing escalation in recent weeks largely uncommented upon.

In addition to the Jamla shooting, multiple other Israeli operations were reported today in Quneitra Governorate, with troops raiding al-Razaniayh village and capturing a young man for unknown reasons.
The young man was identified as Amaar al-Bareedi, and he was reportedly heading to work at the time when he was accosted by the Israeli troops. They detained him when they found out he was from nearby Daraa. His fate remains unknown.
Two other vehicles went to the nearby village of Saida al-Hanout and established a temporary checkpoint near the village, questioning locals who were coming or going from there. There were no detentions reported at the checkpoint.
