Israeli strikes on Lebanon escalated again on Saturday, with at least 22 people killed and dozens of others wounded in various attacks across the country. The IDF also issued evacuation orders for an additional nine villages, and reported having launched strikes on 85 different targets across Lebanon.
The deadliest strike was against the town of Saksakiyeh, where an airstrike killed seven people and wounded 15 others, according to the Lebanon Health Ministry, which referred to this only as an “initial count,” suggesting the toll may rise further.
In Toura, another Israeli strike killed four additional people and eight were wounded, while three people were killed each in Nahrain, Saadiyat, and Haboush. Finally, an incident in Nabatieh saw Israeli drones carrying out a triple-tap attack that killed a Syrian man and his 12-year-old daughter.

The Health Ministry statement said the first drone missed the pair in Nabatieh, while a second drone managed to kill the father. A third drone was eventually sent in to kill the daughter as well. The IDF said it was “looking into” the report.
This is the level of killing that goes on during the active ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, and the US says that it is their intention to hold “intensive” talks to try to bolster the deal. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the priority was to ensure that Lebanon had an absolute monopoly over arms inside Lebanon.
Hezbollah reported strikes against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon as well as against an Israeli base in northern Israel. Three Israeli soldiers were reported wounded in the exchange, one seriously so.
