Testifying Thursday before the Senate Armed Services Committee, top US military commander Admiral Michael Mullen insisted that the Libyan military was not nearing a “breaking point,” and that regime change would be “welcomed,” but is not the goal of the Libyan War.
Mullen said that the strikes had “degraded” the Libyan military significantly, but seemed to suggest that the goal wasn’t to crush them on the rebels’ behalf.
At the same time, it seems the number of US strikes was artificially low in recent days. Mullen said that the weather was so unseasonable for warfighting that the planes couldn’t effectively launch attacks, and seemed to suggest that the strikes will pick up again once the weather clears up.
Mullen, as with the rest of the Obama Administration, has struggled to present anything resembling goals or an exit strategy for the war in Libya, and today was no different. The more comments are made, the less seems to be known about this conflict.
I'm sure that President Obama has taken a very sober look at the situation in Libya and has made the right humanitarian decision to bomb Libya in order to save lives.
President Obama said this intervention would be a matter of DAYS, not weeks or months or years. And once again he has spoken truth to power. On March 19th the bombing began. It is now April 1st. It has been 14 days since America has begun military intervention in Libya. To compare that with 3,8547 days in Afghanistan or 2,495 days in Iraq is absurd. Our intervention has been very short indeed and it's shortness is only beginning.
It IS all a matter of days, not week, months or years.
I have long proposed that we should have only one month in the year, the month of October. October under my plan would have 365 days. Later as we develop our understanding, we could have only days, not months or years as President Obama has wisely suggested to measure events.
Those who criticize Obama are racists.
It is only through bombing that one can achieve true enlightenment. Bombing rearranges everything and illuminates dark areas, especially at night, bringing light to the eyes so that the truth can be seen by all.
Bombing is real change. Change you can believe in. It allows for a fresh start, HOPE and a new begining. Bombing rids us of the old and the dysfunctional new Bombing allows us to rejoice in
re-creation with no time for wasteful recreation. It gets rid of old habits and old ways of doing things and replaces them with new ways.
Bombing is truly a natural event. As we look into the nights sky we can see the Moon with all it's haunting wonder. The moon is marked with beautiful craters caused by the incessant bombing by the Universal Order on the surface of the moon. That bombing, with asteriods, (which are the seeds of life much like spermatoza), seek a fertile recipient.
And as American's, we can all see that Libya is a fertile recipient, and that we bring new life to it through the power, the magic, the life altering force of bombing.
