In one of the more entertaining stories to come out of the WikiLeaks Cablegate, website All News Web is reporting that they got access to an as-yet-unreleased cable which was amongst the ones Julian Assange confirmed previously mentioned UFOs.
According to the site, the cable is dated November 9, 2005 and is connected to the Kiev embassy. It admonishes embassy officials not to discuss “under any circumstances” the military’s policy toward UFOs.
The report also says that the cable specifically mentions Department of Defense “concerns” related to the possibility of UFOs entering orbit and warns officials not to confirm that the US commits resources to the possibility.
Given the reports from other countries related to their own secret UFO files, it is perhaps unsurprising that the Pentagon, which seems to have an endless array of interests, would be spending some of its record budget planning for some sort of bizarre space invasion scenario. The more interesting aspect is that the State Department was so obsessed with secrecy that they actually took time to caution officials not to “confirm” it in off-the-record conversations.
"We can neither confirm nor deny the existence of a State Department policy directing Department officials to neither confirm nor deny the existence of a US Armed Forces policy regarding UFO's which may or may not exist" according to an unnamed 'senior State Department official' who may or may not exist.
Michael Cohen is not a reliable source for anything. Use at your own risk (of looking like an idiot).
Oh, bruther! This is all we need now, a "War on UFOs"
Hey!! Now we're getting to the good stuff. More…more…Maybe Darth will drag that planet buster over here in the far corner of the galaxy and end the charade…
I'm afraid of the consequences. Amerikans ain't too keen on new things or different things or things they don't understand. Look at how well the 'War of Terror' has worked for them. A 'War on UFO's' could be lethal and terminal.
For sixty years the government in the USA has deceived it's people about their profound interest in UFOs. Articles like the above like to downplay the meaning of such interest. But think about it, over and over again we hear pilots, astronauts and governmental officials telling us something is here. The media negative take on UFOs? Who has respect for the media today?
Those of us who have witnessed this objects up close and personal know what others think is impossible…the universe is alive with ETs and some are and have been visiting us.

It's all very well to say…."the universe is alive with ETs" but we need proof! If this report is on the level then it shows that they believe some thing is entering our orbit! Then why the hell are they pumping millions into SETI? It makes no sense. My guess is they're as clueless as the rest of us.
This latest cable does not provide real "evidence" that the ufo phenomenon is linked to extra terrestrials. "IF" evidence of an extra terrestial presence and/or contact comes from yet-to-be-released cables obtained by Wikileaks then the world may be in for an "awakening." However, if it is more of this, "nothing to see here, please move along" garbage, then I am afraid, true believers will continue risking their credibility by even discussing the subject (which $ucks). In addition, why is it only the fringe media that is running this stuff? I was a reporter in mainstream media for 12 years (both large and small market). I do not understand the lack of reporting by the major media outlets on this. I never got shut down by a news director, assignment editor or station manager from reporting on a controversial subject just because it was controversial – but maybe this is different.
The aliens have been coming and going for thousands of years.
They are already here. Always been here…
What's the big deal?
UFOs are entering orbit?
That's some legit manoeuvering then. Quite unlike the usual freaking out of Kentucky farmers, hypnotising of mixed-racial couples, buzzing planes, amputating livestock, and generally giving people a hard time. Damn those gnomes!
Anyway –> This is an OUTSIDE CONTEXT PROBLEM and better leave it be for now.
Probably terrorist elements smuggling illegal aliens into the HomeLand?
allnewsweb.com also reported that world leaders were briefed on a huge UFO battle near earth. http://www.allnewsweb.com/page1199999456.php
and that the pyramids contain alien technology. http://www.allnewsweb.com/page1199999458.php
not exactly a reliable news source.
They have green or gray skin and don't look like "us"… they must be terrorists! We have to clamp down on those illegal 'alens'! Close the border (between us and space :D)! The 'axis' of evil is growing larger!
The alledged cable only confirms what we already know: the reality of the UFO phenomenon is undeniable. What is also undeniable is that NO ONE, not even at the Pentagon, understands anything about the nature of such a phenomenon. On this issue our Science is without answers. It , will take time before we start figuring things out. But ultimately, perhaps within a century or two, we will, in an "epiphany" of sort. Thus, our young species will have reached the threshold of History.
Interesting and probably true
Michael Cohen, the "reporter" for the All News Web site referenced, which he also just so happens to co-own, has a very long track record of fabricating sensational UFO related stories for his website without any proof or documentation whatsoever. He is a known, disreputable fraud to the real UFO research community, and he serves only his own purposes to spread disinformation without any ethical or moral qualms. There is a genuine UFO phenomenon (see Dr. Jacques Vallee's several books on the subject, for credible data), but Cohen wouldn't know about it even if one bit him on the ass. He'd probably report that as evidence of the Loch Ness monster. Cohen is a fraud, a completely amoral, and obvious hoaxer and amateurish agent provocateur and disinformation provider. Just read his voluminous, breathless posts and articles and judge for yourself. He represents the dark side of the ufology continuum. No credibility whatsoever.
Ask yourself this one question about this article: how would a bonehead, or anyone, get an "unreleased" copy of a Wikileaks diplomatic cable in the first place? No one else has. This is simply just another of his confabulated, delusional lies. I'm surprised Jason DItz would even write and article using All News Web and Michael Cohen as a source, since Cohen is so obviously, shall we say, completely NUTS! Shame on Ditz, and antiwar.com for publishing this tendentious and misleading article. You guys really should know better. This is the worst kind of tabloid sensationalism and yellow journalism, IMHO. Maybe it was published for laughs and giggles, but the tone and serious treatment given by Ditz to this source is both ridiculous and laughable.
As someone who has been reading ANW for over a year, I could not agree with you less. Cohen anda few others such as Michael Sallah seems to be the only genuine source of information on the topic recently. Obviously you are a shill of the various hucksters of the failing and utterly hopeless established UFO industry-pointlessly trying to crush credible opposition. Nice try!
