Incoming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday appointed a major Iran hawk to lead Israel’s National Security Council under the new government.
Tzachi Hanegbi is a veteran Likud lawmaker and a longtime ally of Netanyahu who has repeatedly threatened in recent years that Israel would attack Iran if the US returns to the Iran nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA.
In his most recent threat, Hanegbi said that Netanyahu would order an attack on Iran if the US doesn’t secure a new nuclear deal or doesn’t take military action itself. He told Israel’s Channel 12 in November that in that situation, Netanyahu “will act, in my assessment, to destroy the nuclear facilities in Iran.”
Back in 2020, Hanegbi, who was settlement minister at the time, warned that if President Biden won the election and returned to the JCPOA, it could lead to a war between Israel and Iran. He made a similar threat following Biden’s election.
Netanyahu’s new government will be taking over soon as tensions between the US and Iran are soaring. Since JCPOA negotiations fell apart in September, the US has escalated its sanctions campaign against Iran.
The Pentagon’s recently admitted in its new Nuclear Posture Review that Iran is not trying to build a nuclear weapon, but US and Israeli officials continue to hype up the threat anyway. The US and Iran recently held joint military exercises over the Mediterranean Sea in November that simulated attacks on Iran.

Needs correction.
joint military exercises are what the US government calls war.
Her comment said it held joint exercises with Iran against Iran.
Israel can kiss my lily white a–
A truly rational and balanced approach.
And my semi-white ass too Donna!
Israel is observing the success of Zelensky to secure endless amounts of US support and is feeling free to replicate Zelensky’s hysterical, threatening behavior. Netanyahu wants to stay in power at any cost.
Zelensky said he wants Ukraine to be like Israel after war.
So this means that eastern Ukraine is Gaza to the creature in Kiev. Interesting.
He wants the military stationed everywhere.
In Israel, it’s not just Palestinians, but anyone opposed to Zionist government, even other Jews. Video in link

Israeli authorities brutally beat Jews in the anti-Zionist synagogue in Jerusalem. After the demonstration of the Orthodox Jewish community in Jerusalem against the State of Israel, a group of Israeli police attacked the synagogue in Jerusalem during their religious services. (Pretty scary.)

Because they love to collect benefits, don’t work, and refuse to serve in the military that is protecting them and their families
No. They are getting beaten for protesting, but nice try.
Israel is the ones with nuclear weapons..
As it should!
Hi Jake:
Nuclear weapons on any side is a dangerous scenario for all of us….
Not if it keeps the bullies at bay.
Israel couldn’t defeat Hamas and more than that was defeated by Hizballah in 2006 so now Hizballah is better armed with missiles with higher precision thus attacking Iran will be an grave error with a high prise to pay, even Hanegbi is able to understand that
Cheers to Hezbollah for handing the Zios their asses on a platter 😁
Therefore,Israel’s air strikes aimed at interdicting arms shipments to Hezballah are quite reasonable self defense.
How many more Palestinians will Netanyahu murder? How many Israelis will die by rockets in retaliation? And he wonders why Hamas have so much support in Gaza. It’s a never ending cycle of violence. We need the two state solution but Israel and America have killed it, and killed peace there.
Arafat told his people during negotiations-we will take what we can get now,and take the rest later.Who killed peace?
Hi Jake, I think that is over-simplification. If you want to get down to it, every one of us has killed peace to some degree or another. We need solutions not further quagmire.
I too concur with the idea of a two-state solution. The idea that Palestinians could ever achieve equity in “one (Zionist) nation)” is beyond ludicrous.
Palestine needs its own nation in order to form their own destinies. Throw the goddamned squatters OUTTA there!
