President Biden told reporters in Indonesia on Wednesday that it’s “unlikely” the missile that hit a village in Poland Tuesday near the Ukrainian border was fired by Russia and that “preliminary” information indicates otherwise.
“There is preliminary information that contests that,” Biden said when asked by reporters if the missile was fired by Russia. “I don’t want to say until we completely investigate. It’s unlikely in the minds of the trajectory that it was fired from Russia.”
Biden is in Indonesia for the G20 summit and held an emergency meeting of NATO and G7 leaders over the news that a missile fell in Poland, killing two people. He said that the allies agreed to find out exactly what happened and make a decision together from there.
“Then we’re going to collectively determine our next step as we investigate and proceed. There was total unanimity among folks at the table,” Biden said.
Over in Poland, President Andrzej Duda told reporters that there’s no clear evidence of who fired the missile. “We do not for the moment have unequivocal evidence of who fired the missile. An investigation is ongoing,” he said.
Duda said the missile was likely “Russian-made,” but Ukraine’s armed forces use a lot of older Russian-made equipment, including S-300 air defense systems. The munition landed in Poland as Russia launched massive missile strikes on energy infrastructure across Ukraine.
The Polish president also said that he believes it was an “isolated” incident and that he doesn’t expect more missiles to hit Polish territory.
Poland is considering holding consultations with NATO members under Article 4 of the alliance’s treaty. NATO’s Article 4 states: “The parties will consult together whenever any of them have the opinion that the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any party is threatened.”
Since Poland is a NATO member, there has been concern that the country may ask to invoke Article 5, which states that “an armed attack on any party is an attack on them all.” But so far, there is no sign that Poland is looking to escalate the situation, and there’s no evidence that Russia launched the missile.
When news of the missile landing in Poland first broke, a US official told The Associated Press that Russian missiles hit Polish territory. But when asked about the situation, the Pentagon said it could not corroborate the claim, and Russia issued a strong denial.
The lack of evidence has not stopped Ukrainian officials from accusing Russia of hitting Poland. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Twitter that he spoke with Duda and expressed “condolences over the death of Polish citizens from Russian missile terror.”
That means it’s Ukraine.
My thoughts exactly. US-backed terrorists in Kiev are responsible.
Well, overall this was a very desperate attempt by Anglo-American propaganda machine to escalate the war. It expose the completely pathetic state of these corporate lie boxes. The parasites controlling all these propaganda rags are in complete self-destruct mode. They don’t care about their propaganda distributors loss of any remaining reputation. Their time is running out but most of us already know that.
Glory to the Forces of Light!
Poland and NATO admitted it was a Ukraine phuck up but NATO still blames Russia because they are in a war.
That because it wasn’t a mistake. It was intentional. The plan was to use the propaganda machine to escalate the war.
Maybe.
100% Everything the Anglo-American empire have been doing for the last 10 years is aimed at destabilization and provocation of a major war in Europe. Blowing up Nordstream pipelines is clear and concrete evidence of it.
I agree with that. But I’m not sure about this particular incidence. Maybe it was Zelensky going rogue? If the US wanted to escalate right now they would not have switched the narrative from it being a Russian strike.
Volodimor can’t go rogue. They have him locked up tight from all sides. They can’t escalate because they already tried every trick in the book. Kremlin isn’t retaliating. I would have went nuclear after they sinked Moskva. Hell, I would have nuked Washington back in 2014 if I was in Putin’s place or at least bombed few US bases in Mideast. What I’m seeing is they can’t escalate anymore without looking like complete idiots and losing support of even the most dedicated and brainwashed cult members. The imperial propaganda machine is in ruins. It seems this is the best they can do.
The only other explanation is “ultra-nationalists” settling the score with Poles.

How do do we even know where that guy is? I didn’t watch very long since I don’t speak the language and there were no subtitles, but I read the synopsis.
Supposedly this guy is a journalist for Rossia24. A somewhat prolific news channel but it was clearly an amateur blog report. Format, language, delivery… Amateurish. But I think it’s still worth consideration.
The Ukrainian “ultra-nationalists” and Poles got a lot of bad blood.
For good reason, I’d think?
