According to the Yemeni Oil Company, one of their ships carrying 31,000 tons of gasoline was captured by Saudi and coalition forces. The ship had a permit from the UN to deliver into the country.
This was just the latest in a series of Saudi seizures. In June, two permitted ships of fuel were similarly taken. Five are now being held overall.
Nominally, the fuel is presented as military gear, even though it has obvious civilian use and UN permits to import.Ship seizures have been an issue throughout the war, with food, fuel, and medicine.
The ceasefire is meant to ease the shipment of goods, and has helped some. Still, the Saudis at times decide to block goods on a whim.
Piracy on the high seas in the 21 century who would have thought ? , Black Beard would be proud.
