Overnight there are reports of Israeli artillery fire against various targets in southern Lebanon. Damage and casualties are as yet uncertain.
This comes following reports on Sunday when a missile was fired from an unknown source within Lebanon. The missile struck an empty area on the Israeli side of the border, doing no damage.
The Israeli military downplayed the missile fire, saying that the alert level remains “normal” in the area, and that there were no warning sirens sounded over the one missile.
It doesn’t take much for Israel to escalate a conflict in the occupied territories, or against Lebanon. Israeli officials were also keen to point out rocket fire from Gaza, though this is not believed at all to be related to the Lebanon exchange.
