Indications are that the Iran nuclear talks in Vienna are effectively over. The deal is either going to happen, or it isn’t, and while in recent days there was a lot of pessimism, there is now reason to hope a deal may still happen.
Early in the week, everyone seemed to be souring on the deal. Now, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is reversing his long-time opposition and is praising the talks. A very influential senator, his reversal could indicate that America is less reluctant to making a deal, any deal, with Iran.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is also pushing for the deal to be made this week, saying there cannot be any more delays. The time for a decision is here, and now.
Russian Envoy Mikhail Ulyanov offered a similar assessment, saying that the talks are “one minute from the finish line.” It seems that’s been the case, and it still comes down to whether everyone chooses to make the deal that’s in front of them or not.
Unfortunately, that still means things could go either way. Though Sen. Schumer’s comments may make the US more likely to deal than it looked before. Iran, for its part, remains very concerned about assurances the US will stay in the deal this time.
While it’s not clear the US has a mechanism for such an assurance, the Senate Majority Leader being comfortable with the deal would make it more likely the US would deliver on what they promised, something that never came out of the 2015 version of sanction relief.
Here they go again. making promises they cannot (Or will not) keep. It’s up to Iran to decide if they are up for more treachery…!!!!!! & blackmail.
“The deal is either going to happen, or it isn’t, and while in recent

LOL The only reason a deal might happen now is that they can’t keep up this charade any longer, especially with the Ukraine conflict going on. Eventually one gets tired sitting around a table achieving absolutely nothing.
Email me when the ACTUAL DEAL is disclosed.
They spent their time sitting around the table thinking of happy hour.
And I bet the party that is not getting tired is Iran…!
It is unwise for Iran to enter into any deal. Israel has already declared that it will wreck any deal.If Iran wants deal it should negotiate it with Israel !!! P5+1+EU is irrelevant
Both Iran and U.S. know this is just a stall tactic and a preparation for a more important event.
Zionazi Schumer is the very last person on earth that should be involved with these “negotiations”.
I personally hope Iran flips them off and proceeds with their own agenda, whatever that may be.
Let’s see. The deal is either return to the original deal, with guarantees, or forget it. And how long have these clowns been at it making this decision? And these are the fools in charge! They have developed a whole new kind of mediocrity.
I hate these “deals”. Here is the only proper deal: you let me buy your stuff and we’ll let you buy our stuff.
Iran is wasting its time. The US government is incapable of abiding by any negotiated agreement, period.
