The Saudi-led coalition invading Yemen has reported another 15 airstrikes against targets in Yemen’s Maarib and Jawf Provinces. In the past 24 hours, those strikes destroyed 12 vehicles and killed over 85 Houthis.
Maarib is the chief target for airstrikes, as the Houthis have been contesting that province all year, and are continuing to send reinforcements despite the large number of deaths in these airstrikes.
Control of Maarib is sought as the last city that the Houthis as of yet don’t control in northern Yemen. Jawf is one of the provinces that has also experienced spillover violence.
Heavy airstrikes have become the go-to defensive tactic for the Saudis, who are trying to keep the Houthis back. So far they’ve killed large numbers of people, but more and more reinforcements keep replacing them.
