Israeli media outlets are reporting that an act of sabotage against an Iranian nuclear building caused “major damage.” The attack reportedly involved a quadcopter drone. It isn’t reported to have been an Israeli attack, but Israel does tend to be the one sabotaging Iran, and Israeli media are the only ones reporting damage.
Iranian state media reported the attempted act of sabotage, but said that it was foiled “thanks to the vigilance of Iran’s security and defense organizations.” They added that the attack did not result in any casualties or damage.
This attempted sabotage comes amid ongoing nuclear talks. Back in April, Israel sabotaged the Natanz site, leading to Iran reducing voluntary cooperation with the IAEA. The same site was targeted in July, but only took minor damage.
Iran reported that there is an ongoing investigation into Wednesday’s attack, So far, the details are not very specific on what’s been done or why, and while Israel’s involvement seems probable, that’s still not certain either.
