Due to the hostile policies of the Biden administration, tensions between the US and Russia are soaring. Now, amid the souring relations, the two countries won’t have ambassadors in each other’s capitals, making diplomatic communications even more difficult.
US Ambassador to Russia John Sullivan announced on Tuesday that he is returning to Washington for “consultations.” His announcement came after Russia’s foreign minister suggested Sullivan return to the US for the time being in response to new US sanctions against Moscow and the White House’s decision to expel 10 Russian diplomats.
Last month, Russia recalled its ambassador to the US after President Biden agreed in an interview that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a “killer” who has “no soul.” Since his comments, Biden has called Putin and proposed an in-person meeting, which US and Russian officials are discussing setting up.
Although Biden suggested meeting with Putin, it was after the phone call that the US slapped a wide array of sanctions against Russian officials and entities and expelled the Russian diplomats. Moscow responded by expelling US diplomats and releasing a list of current and former officials who are banned from entering Russia.
On top of the rhetoric and the sanctions, the US has also expressed its “unwavering” support for Ukraine amid tensions with Russia. The Biden administration is hyping the presence of Russian troops near Ukraine’s border, claiming it is the largest Russian military build-up since 2014.
On Monday, the EU claimed that Russia had sent over 150,000 troops near the border with Ukraine but had to correct the number and said later it was more like 100,000. But it’s still not clear how this number has been determined.
Why should Russia bother with having an ambassador in the US at this point? Also, is Victoria Nuland still allowed in Russia? I did not see her name on the list of banned US officials. The Russians must like her cookies.
The US Ambassador was told to leave.
We are one short step from broken diplomatic relations.
This is about as completely messed up as it has ever been since WW2.
It’s becoming more difficult for either nation to threaten war against the other through official diplomatic channels.
Perhaps the US government should recall its ambassador to Ukraine.

The disturbing conclusion that can be drawn is that all the political processes in the West are now controlled by private entities imbedded into our institutions. And their methods are almost mechanical, unintelligent — but never questioned. Take US CIA. Key functions — producing analysis and writing reports for President or Congress— all privatized. Amazon controls a chunk if it. In UK quite advanced. Outfit Bellingcat is for some a front for MI5. But it is more likely an outfit that pushes MI5 and Government into doing what the private entity wants. Look at the power of such private networks. Slovakia bought Russian vaccine and instant shakeup of government . Czech government was about to buy Russian vaccine — suddenly a weapons explosion in 2014 that was never questioned before, was by Bellingcat pinned in Russian agents. And guess what, the same two Russians that were accused of being in Salisbury when Skripals were poisoned! As idiotic as it is — suddenly Czech government is expelling Russian diplomats, and asking EU to do it also in sympathy with Czech people. And internally — a massive power struggle.
The private networks are flexing their muscles and it is becoming clear that the elected people are nothing in this game. Easily shoved around.
Germany had zero say after the private group brought Navalny into the country, surely in a deal with some privatized intelligence group, and private hospital and labs. All government was able to do — sheepishly follow the coordinated noise from coordinated networks of intelligence media and academia.
It seems to me that it is easy to fall into this hysteria because our representatives have ling since stopped representing us. Have very little to say bur repeat what press suggested they do. And press is just a mouthpiece of those well funded private networks that are telling us what to do.
They are fearless. They see no danger to their families or money. They already bough everything that is or not nailed down — and are now taking on higher risk.
Who is going to really care about our interest? Nancy Pelosi? These are the people who have gutted knowingly our industry, and are now ridiculing their victims in “flyover country”, as backward, racist idiots. Having been their useful idiots for decades in “deregulate” mantra that sent tens of thousands factories out of America, and unleashed Wall Street speculation, privatized military and corrupted courts — now they are spent and useless. Time for BLM to “defund” the police, that is privatize. To become one more node in private networks hat are deciding our future.
