At least two Palestinians were killed, and more than 20 were injured by Israeli attacks in Gaza on Monday, according to reports from the Strip, as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that an Israeli strike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killed one person and wounded several others. WAFA also reported that a Palestinian died of his wounds after being hit by an Israeli strike in Gaza City earlier in the day.
Sources in Gaza told Turkey’s Anadolu Agency that at least 21 Palestinians were wounded by Israeli attacks across Gaza. The report said that at least eight people, including four children, were wounded by strikes on tents in Khan Younis, and 10 were injured by Israeli attacks in Gaza City.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said in its daily update on Monday, released about midday Gaza time, that the IDF killed at least two Palestinians and wounded 25 over the previous 24-hour period. Also on Monday, the UN said that Israeli attacks in Gaza over the past week killed at least nine children, including two sisters aged 6 and 12, and four other children between the ages of 3 and 14.
Israel has ramped up its strikes in Gaza in recent weeks despite the US and the so-called Board of Peace announcing in July that Hamas had agreed to a US-proposed disarmament deal. President Trump’s envoy and son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on August 17, and the two agreed that Israel would continue its attacks in Gaza despite Hamas agreeing to the potential deal.
