An Israeli strike on a vehicle in Gaza City killed at least two Palestinians, the Palestinian news agency WAFA has reported, as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal.
The WAFA report said that the car was targeted in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, and medical sources told Reuters that 13 other people were injured. The medical sources also said that locals were being asked to provide information to help identify the dead since their bodies were badly dismembered.
Israeli attacks hit other parts of Gaza, with a WAFA correspondent reporting that two Palestinians, including a young girl, were critically injured by Israeli shelling near the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. Three other Palestinians were wounded by an Israeli airstrike in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
Gaza’s Health Ministry so far hasn’t released a Sunday death toll update, but it said on Saturday that over the previous 48 hours, Israeli attacks killed at least 10 Palestinians and wounded 56. Among those killed over the weekend was a pregnant woman who was hit by an Israeli airstrike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
The Health Ministry said that since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, the IDF has killed at least 1,369 Palestinians and wounded 4,627. “A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them so far,” the ministry wrote on Telegram.
The US has continued to back Israel’s attacks despite announcing that Hamas had agreed to a deal that would see the group give up its weapons, a proposal that Israel has rejected. President Trump’s envoy and son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on August 17, and the two agreed that Israel would continue its attacks in Gaza.
