Israeli forces have killed a 14-year-old boy in Gaza as the IDF continues its constant violations of the US-backed ceasefire deal despite President Trump and the so-called “Board of Peace” recently announcing that a deal had been reached on Hamas disarmament.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the boy, Suhail Abu Shalouf, was killed by Israeli gunfire south of Khan Younis on Sunday evening, and his body was recovered by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society on Sunday.
The Quds News Network reported that Shalouf was killed as he was gathering firewood and that his brother had previously been killed by Israeli forces. Photos and videos show his mother and other relatives mourning him at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
Israeli attacks continued in Gaza on Sunday, with at least one person killed and six others wounded by strikes on the al-Mawasi refugee camp west of Khan Younis, according to the Anadolu Agency. Several Palestinians were also injured by an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, and a child was shot and injured by an Israeli quadcopter drone east of the Bureij refugee camp.
Gaza’s Health Ministry didn’t release an update on Sunday but said on Saturday that, over the previous 48-hour period, at least two Palestinians were killed by Israeli attacks and 14 were wounded. It said that since the so-called ceasefire deal was signed in October 2025, 1,262 Palestinians have been killed and 4,168 have sustained injuries.
The continued Israeli attacks in Gaza come as President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Bulgarian politician Nikolay Mladenov, the Board of Peace’s top envoy for Gaza, met with officials from mediating countries in Egypt. According to Reuters, Hamas officials attended some of the talks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly rejected the Hamas disarmament plan announced by Trump, and Kushner, a long-time family friend of the Israeli prime minister, is the US official tasked with traveling to Israel to push for the implementation of the agreement.
